PATHS-UP Young Scholars Digital Health Summer Program
The PATHS-UP program aims to introduce students to digital circuitry, computer science, physics, and engineering research at Rice University and its practical applications in the healthcare field. The topic of this program is very unique and students will be able to work with instruments such as pulse oximeters, accelerometers, GPS devices, speakers, and microphones. By the end of the program, students will also construct an introductory device that mirrors the type of technology being created at the engineering research center and participate in a workshop challenge where they have to build and test a design and pitch their solution to a panel of judges.
If you’re a high school student interested in a career in medicine or even a career in engineering this program is a fantastic opportunity to see how digital design is impacting medical treatment.
