Nursing Degree Programs
Riggs College offers comprehensive Nursing Degree Programs (PN), (ASN), (LPN-RN), and (RN-BSN), providing pathways to either an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. The curriculum is meticulously designed to meet Board of Nursing requirements, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for licensure and practice.
All students are required to complete the online orientation course before they start their program. This course will familiarize students with the online student learning platform.
Online Learning Environment
Riggs College utilizes a robust online learning platform to deliver its programs. Students benefit from interaction with professors and peers. The use of platform tools is confirmed, and the platform is accessible from Monday to Sunday 24/7. Students are expected to actively participate in activities on the learning platform.
In cases of enrollment, students may need to retake the course at their own expense in the event of illness, disability, or emergency. Students must provide official documentation (e.g., hospital note, etc.). Students should contact the school’s student services office.

Assessment and Feedback
Riggs College employs various assessment methods, including formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning, including comprehensive exams. Students are required to complete an end-of-course survey for the course. Expectations for each course are outlined in the course syllabus, including when the tasks are due, and the weight of each task is measured.
Course content is developed by course leads who are experts in the field and module objectives. The platform allows instructors to monitor student progress on a regular basis and track performance throughout the course. Discussion Boards are not open for public access and are intended for students, faculty, and staff. Students are prohibited from posting content that may threaten the academic integrity of the Discussion Boards. Students are responsible for keeping their password confidential and current.
Admissions Process
To be admitted to Riggs College, prospective students must fulfill specific requirements. All required documents must be submitted upon initiating the application process. Students must notify the college of a change of address according to the process described above. The Dean of Academics has the discretion to grant an exception and offer admittance. Additional admission requirements are listed below per program. All requirements must be met to be granted admission to any program at Riggs College.
Entrance Exam
As part of the admissions process, students may be required to take an entrance exam. The cost of the exam is deducted from the student’s initial deposit to the program. The exam takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Students who do not pass the entrance exam may retake the exam after six months. The exam may include a topic of choice determined by the admissions department. Students who do not meet the aforementioned qualifications are at the discretion of the Dean of Academics.
Credit Transfer and Prior Learning
Riggs College recognizes that students may have acquired valuable knowledge and skills through prior education and experience. The college offers opportunities to earn credit for prior learning, which is considered transfer credit.

Riggs College evaluates prior learning based on documentation such as certificates, letters of recommendation. The college seeks to see where your work can be seen and verified.
Credit from Other Institutions
Riggs College accepts credits from United States accredited institutions. The college does not accept credits from an unaccredited institution. A grade of "C+" must have been earned. Transfer credit decisions are made by the Dean of Academic on an individual basis. The college does not accept Advanced Placement credit.
Prerequisite Courses
Students seeking to transfer credit for prerequisite courses may have an option available with approval from the Dean of Academics. Students may be able to test out of a course for credit while being proctored by Riggs College. This decision is made by the Dean of Academics once a student has been accepted. Science, Engineering and Math (STEM) have a 10-year shelf-life.
International Transcripts
Students with international transcripts must have their credentials evaluated on an individual basis. The final decision regarding transfer credit rests at the discretion of the accepting institution. Students must submit transcripts directly to the institution’s Director of Education, along with an official translation (in case the original is not in English). Riggs College recommends using a member of the American Translators Association (ATA).
