Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship: Advancing Anti-Fraud Education

The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship provides an opportunity for students to advance their education and anti-fraud career paths. It supports their anti-fraud interests by providing a full year of ACFE membership.

Honoring Exemplary ACFE Members

In 1998, the program was renamed the Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship in honor of ACFE members Larry Jennings, CFE, and Tracy Ritchie, CFE. Both men were among five people fatally wounded during terrorist attacks in Karachi, Pakistan, on November 14, 1997. "Both men exemplified the true spirit of our organization with their devotion to detecting, investigating and deterring fraud and white-collar crime," said Dr. Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA, Chairman and founder of the ACFE.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested students must demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in fraud examination or similar anti-fraud profession. They must have a declared major or minor in accounting, business administration, finance, criminal justice or similar fraud-related discipline. College or university students graduating in 2026 (must be enrolled through 2027). Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited, four-year college or university and be enrolled through the 2026-2027 academic year. Undergraduates must be enrolled in 9 semester hours (or equivalent) per term and must be a junior, senior, or at least in the second half of their sophomore year when applying. Graduate students must be enrolled in 6 semester hours (or equivalent) per term. Applicants must submit two recommendations from individuals who know the applicant on a professional level (employers, colleagues, professors, etc.). ACFE chapter directors or officers.

Fraud-related interests, activities, goals and desired career path. Overall academic achievement demonstrated by transcripts.

Award Details

Award amounts are $10,000, $7,500, $5,000 and $2,000 and are paid directly to the recipient’s university or college.

This scholarship aims to help aspiring medical professionals focus on their studies and navigate the demanding and costly journey toward becoming healthcare leaders. Any high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student from a single-parent household may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to overcoming personal, financial, and academic obstacles. Medical or pre-med students are preferred, but aspiring nurses are also eligible.

ASPET Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF) Individual Awards

The ASPET Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF) Awards introduce undergraduate students to pharmacology research. Their goal is to use authentic, mentored research experiences in pharmacology to heighten student interest in careers in research and related health care disciplines. If awarded, ASPET will provide a student stipend for a minimum of ten weeks participation in the program. Undergraduate students conducting pharmacology-related research including, but not limited to, students representing departments of pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, and/or biological chemistry are encouraged to apply for this program. Applications from those traditionally underrepresented in the biomedical sciences are particularly encouraged.

PSECU Scholarship

As a not-for-profit credit union, we believe that education is key to a better life. Our scholarship program helps graduating high school seniors reduce the financial burden of postsecondary education. Since 1997, we’ve awarded nearly $800,000 in scholarships to more than 150 students. Three of the six scholarships awarded each year are named for the people who represented the credit union’s ideals and commitment to service.

  • Must Be a PSECU Member Before you apply, you must be a PSECU member by February 28, 2026 and have your own PSECU account.
  • Must Be a High School Senior You must be a graduating high school senior attending a two- or four-year community college, college, or university in the fall of 2026. The college or university does not have to be in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Students attending a technical school are not eligible.

Dan and Vicky Hancock Scholarship for Mechanical Engineering Excellence

The Dan and Vicky Hancock Scholarship for Mechanical Engineering Excellence, established by Dan and Vicky Hancock, provides financial support for students pursuing college degrees in the field of mechanical engineering. A Kettering graduate, Dan enjoyed a 43-year automotive engineering career at General Motors where he served as Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances. A longtime SAE member, Dan is an SAE Fellow who served on the SAE Foundation Board of Trustees, the SAE International Board of Directors and is the former SAE International President. In 2011, Dan was elected to the National Academy of Engineering - one of the highest honors an engineer can receive.

Delete Cyberbullying Social Media Scholarship

In an effort to get students committed to the cause of deleting cyberbullying, we are offering the Delete Cyberbullying Social Media Scholarship for high school and college students to help cover educational expenses. We want to raise awareness that much of cyberbullying takes place on social media. Those who spend more time on social media are more likely to be cyberbullied so it's important for students to be aware of the signs of cyberbullying. Selection is based on the written statement and focused on creativity, content and commitment to the cause of deleting cyberbullying.

Act of Kindness Scholarship

The Act of Kindness Scholarship supports students who are committed to helping others in their schools or communities. Vocational/technical, two-year, four-year, or graduate institutions are eligible.

  • Be a high school junior or senior, undergraduate student, or graduate student
  • Have a grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 system
  • Recipients must provide an official transcript confirming their reported GPA and proof of enrollment. No transcript or proof of enrollment is required until after students are selected as winners.

NAWIC Undergraduate Scholarship

The NAWIC Founders' Scholarship Foundation (NFSF) assists in providing the construction industry with trained employees through higher education. The construction industry encompasses almost every professional discipline, including trades, project management, administrative, legal, financial, insurance, and business owner. To be eligible for the Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must be currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program at a school in the United States and must have a least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. High school seniors and those pursuing graduate degrees are not eligible. Applicants must be enrolled full-time, and they must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Shared Energy Future Foundation Trades Scholarship

The Shared Energy Future Foundation now offers a range of scholarships to help the next generation of Western States students succeed and innovate in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), as well as other disciplines related to energy. Applicants must be incoming, first-year students (or current first-year apprentices) with a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

The R.H. & Jane Logan Scholarship

The R.H. & Jane Logan Scholarship has a new administrative home at the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences. Distributions from the fund will be used to award undergraduate and graduate students who plan to teach in the public school system, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and demonstrate financial need. To be considered for this award, students must:

  • Complete the WSU Scholarship Application On the application, answer the question “Do you plan to teach in the public school system at any grade level, pre-K-12th grade?”
