Saab Family Foundation Scholarship: Requirements and Opportunities
The Saab Family Foundation provides scholarships to individuals seeking to pursue private high school education or higher education in the pursuit of a two- or four-year undergraduate degree. The Foundation's goal is to provide grants to public charities to carry out charitable purposes and scholarships to individuals to encourage further academic achievement. Founded in 2010, the Saab Family Foundation serves Rockingham County (NH), Hillsborough County (NH), Essex County (MA), and Middlesex County (MA).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Saab Family Foundation scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be private high school students or undergraduate students.
- Must be residents of Rockingham County or Hillsborough County in New Hampshire or Essex County or Middlesex County in Massachusetts.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
- Must be seeking to pursue a private high school education or higher education in the pursuit of a two- or four-year undergraduate degree.
Scholarship Details
Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and financial need and may be provided to cover tuition, room and board, fees, and book expenses.
Foundation History
Mark and Elisia Saab created and ran a medical device company for 27 years. As the couple found success through their business, they aimed to share it through philanthropic efforts. Upon selling the company in July of 2010, Mark and Elisia decided to create a platform that would allow them to give back to their community in previously unimaginable ways; a platform that would allow them to reach more people, places, and causes.
Initially, the Foundation supported students and nonprofits across the United States. In 2013, Trustees voted to keep award dollars closer to home and established the current catchment area. Mark and Elisia again invested in the Foundation in 2018. Not only did the Foundation's endowment increase by more than 400% but so did our ability to support more deserving students and organizations.

This page was designed to offer possible scholarships to help SAAB participants find scholarships and grants that are being given away by non-profit organizations, government agencies, and major corporations. Most of these programs aim to assist disadvantaged people who come from poor families and cannot afford to pay for college. However, there are also programs that recognize and award students who can demonstrate excellence in education, sports, etc., regardless of their financial status.

Other Scholarship Opportunities to Consider
- New Hampshire Residents: There are scholarships for New Hampshire residents between the ages of 17 and 23 who will enroll in a four-year baccalaureate or graduate degree program at least half-time. FAFSA is required.
- STEM Majors: High school seniors in a Unitil service territory in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts who plan to major in science, technology, engineering, or math can apply for specific scholarships.
- Medicine/Health Care: High school seniors who reside in Amherst or Mont Vernon, New Hampshire and will be pursuing a degree in medicine/health care can apply for the Kimberly L. Scholarship. An official transcript and essay between 250 and 500 words are required.
- Disabilities: New Hampshire residents with physical, intellectual, or emotional disabilities or their families can find scholarship opportunities. Funds may be used for a variety of purposes but must benefit the person with the disability. Selection is based on need.
- Vermont Residents (Physician Assistant Program): Vermont residents who are currently enrolled in a physician assistant program in Vermont or recent graduates of such a program who have outstanding student loans and are working or intending to work in Vermont may be eligible. Previous winners of this scholarship are ineligible.
