Navigating the Sara Schenirer Student Portal: A Guide to Wurzweiler MSW and Other Programs

Sara Schenirer partners with various institutions to provide educational opportunities, particularly for the frum community. This guide focuses on navigating the Sara Schenirer student portal with an emphasis on the Wurzweiler Master of Social Work (MSW) program, as well as other available programs and resources.

Wurzweiler Master of Social Work (MSW) Program

The Wurzweiler Master of Social Work program, offered in partnership with Sara Schenirer, is designed for individuals passionate about entering the field of social work. Accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), this 60-credit graduate degree program combines a methods-based curriculum with culturally sensitive instruction. The program aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for social and clinical casework, social group work, and community social administration.

Program Features

  • Dedicated Faculty: The program features dedicated and exceptionally culturally sensitive professors with years of expertise in the field of social work and the Jewish community.
  • Curriculum: This 60-credit graduate degree will shape your passion for social work through a methods-based curriculum and guide you toward new opportunities to live your purpose in social and clinical casework, social group work and community social administration.
  • Flexible Tracks: The Wurzweiler 60-credit MSW offers two tracks:
    • Accelerated Track: 5 semesters (18 months) - begins each January. This track is geared towards individuals who are ready to earn their degree in the shortest amount of time possible. Students who join this cohort need to invest in the program and the internships time constraints in order to complete their degree at a faster pace. This program is five semesters long.
    • Part-time/ Leadership Track: 7 semesters (24 months) - begins each May. This track is designed to accommodate individuals who are seeking to balance an existing career with a college workload at a manageable pace. While the Leadership program will take additional months to complete (7 semesters total), students will receive the same elite-level learning experience.
  • Online Format: The MSW program is offered entirely online through the Sara Schenirer Anywhere live-online format. This platform allows us to offer all classes online in a synchronous format where students and professors see, speak, and hear each other in real time.
  • Practicum Experience: Practicum is an integral component of a successful social work program. Wurzweiler’s experienced practicum coordinators maintain a vast network of contacts and do their utmost to ensure suitable placements for you. Beginning the second semester, students will be required to perform 14-21 hours of practicum per week. We recognize that the quality of the practicum experience is important to you from a professional and hashkafic standpoint, and every effort is expended to locate opportunities for our students that will complement their needs and standards. Students who live in out-of-town communities will be active participants in the internship process.
  • Care Cafes: Free, ongoing monthly seminars called Care Cafes are offered to all our students and alumni. Hosted and enriched by leading experts, Care Cafes address special topics and interventions that may not be extensively covered in the classroom.
  • Psychological First Aid Certification: Students have a unique extracurricular opportunity to earn a certificate in Psychological First Aid (PFA) in partnership with Project Chai. Live classes with Dr. David Fox and Project Chai’s first responders give our students a chance to learn the fundamentals of working with people in the wake of crises and tragedies.

Program Accreditation and Licensure

Academic Integrity and Plagiarism

Sara Schenirer has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and artificial intelligence (AI). Utilizing AI is another form of plagiarism since you are presenting an idea or text as your own when AI technology created it for you. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

In an effort to protect our students and avoid confusion, we have formulated the following policy for all writing/written assignments going forward:

  • Initial draft must be written in Microsoft Word, without use of any AI tool, and saved as a draft.
  • You may then submit the draft to Grammarly or a similar writing tool to improve your writing before posting the final version to Canvas.
  • Assignments should not be drafted in Google Docs since its Help Me Write platform is AI linked. The stand-alone Grammarly program is also AI-linked and is therefore unacceptable for use in drafting your assignment. Microsoft Word is the only format in which an assignment should be drafted and it is free for all students.
  • If your assignment has a high AI score, your professor will request your original draft. Failure to submit an original draft will likely result in a failing grade for the assignment.
