Through the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative, USA offers several scholarship levels based on standardized test scores, high school GPA, and area of study. All first-time freshmen who meet the USA Freshman Admission Scholarship Program requirements, funded by the Mitchell- Moulton Scholarship Initiative, by December 1st will be guaranteed a scholarship award. All first-time freshmen who meet the USA Jaguar Achievement Admission Scholarship Program requirements, funded by the Mitchell- Moulton Scholarship Initiative, by December 1st may recieve a scholarship award.

Targeted Scholarships for Specific High Schools and Programs

The SoC ASCTE Scholarship is offered to students who graduate from the Alabama School of Math and Science or Alabama School of Cyber Technology & Engineering and enroll as first-time freshmen at USA in the School of Computing (SoC) for the fall semester. Recipients must be incoming Freshmen with a 3.0 High School GPA and at least a 21 ACT score. Preference will be given to students who graduated from one of the following schools: Blount, Davidson, LeFlore Magnet, B.C. Rain, Vigor, or Williamson High School. The scholarship is in memory of all those who have mentally and physically fallen to systems of injustice.

The Aspiring Leaders in Technology Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018 for incoming freshmen majoring in the School of Computing. Students should have a 3.0 or higher GPA and a 23 or greater ACT/converted SAT score. Preference is given to students who contribute a unique perspective to the program, those from rural communities, or those who lack access to technology education.

Honors College Scholarships

The USA Honors College offers a curriculum of interdisciplinary excellence designed to stimulate the analytical and critical thinking of exceptionally qualified and highly motivated students. A limited number of scholarships are awarded competitively and are available to students of the USA Honors College once admission is complete. The USA Honors College provides its students with opportunities for travel, research programming support, and unique opportunities throughout their four years of enrollment.

Academic Department Scholarships

The Accounting Scholarship was established in 2012 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to undergraduate students majoring in Accounting. There is no application required as it is faculty-nominated.

The Pat and Aden "Jack" Cooper Endowed Scholarship was established in November 2016 by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Cooper & Co. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual endowed tuition scholarship for a rising Junior or Senior majoring in the Mitchell College of Business with a concentration in Real Estate.

The Alpha Epsilon Delta Scholarship was established in 2025 to provide financial support to four students, awarding $500 each for the fall semester.

A scholarship is available for students majoring in a field related to Life Course & Aging Studies in good academic standing based on GPA, academic performance, and an essay on career goals. Students should demonstrate a commitment to working with senior citizens who have limited resources and reside in senior living communities, most especially those AHEPA 310 Senior Housing facilities located in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. The College of Arts and Sciences scholarship selection committee will be charged with the responsibility of selecting the recipient of this scholarship. Nominations for the award must be endorsed by the Director of the USA Programs in Gerontology or the Director of the USA Center for Generational Studies. Students must be enrolled full-time for the upcoming academic year (fall and spring) in order to apply and receive this scholarship.

The Akridge-DeVan Family Endowed Scholarship in Education is created to honor Benita DeVan Parnell who taught English in secondary school. This scholarship is also dedicated to the memory of Christopher L. Akridge. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual tuition scholarship to a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Education and Professional Studies with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

In 2020, the Alabama Broadcasters Association Endowed Scholarship was established to support students earning an education in communication with a focus in either radio or television. Applicants must be a full-time undergraduate junior or senior concentrating in either radio or television studies or Broadcast Journalism with a 3.0 or greater GPA.

A scholarship is established to support musical theatre students. One scholarship is awarded based upon interview and audition. Scholarships are awarded annually to currently enrolled rising sophomore Electrical Engineering students.

A scholarship was established in 2002 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior who is a declared major in the College of Arts and Sciences. The student must also have exemplified the ideals of Albert Schweitzer through community service.

A scholarship was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to students enrolled in the upper division of BMD and SPA or Professional Component of PT, OT, SP, AU, RAD or other future Allied Health programs. Students must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the USA Office of Financial Aid.

The Alexis Atkins Jaguar Marching Band Endowed Scholarship was established by Katherine Alexis Atkins.

The Alfred F. Delchamps, Sr. scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Education who plans to teach, and has been demonstrate unmet need as determined by the University of South Alabama . Eligible applicants must be Junior or Senior status in a College of Education teacher certification program, have completed 64 hours in a Teacher Education Program, have been admitted to Teacher Education Candidacy.

The Allen J. Pearl USA NAA Book Scholarship was designed to recognize a student who has achieved success in extracurricular as well as academic endeavors at the University of South Alabama. Academics, activities, and leadership are considered in awarding the scholarships, as well as financial need. Successful candidates must be full-time sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled at the University of South Alabama with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

The Aloyis Sonneborn Endowed Scholarship was established in May 2007 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to a deserving student studying Real Estate within the USA Mitchell College of Business. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference shall be given to applicants with a favorable letter of recommendation from a member of the MCOB faculty.

The Alpha Tau Omega, Kappa Sigma Chapter Endowed Scholarship is intended to empower current brothers and future leaders in the organization. The scholarship also celebrates the Kappa Sigma Chapter's ten-year chartering anniversary. Recipients must be full-time undergraduates with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

A scholarship was established in 2008 for the purpose of providing financial support to junior or senior-level undergraduate students in the Mitchell College of Business majoring in Real Estate with Real Estate as a career objective. They must have completed at least one Real Estate course.

The Alvin J. Williams Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad in Marketing was established in 2017 for the purpose of providing a study abroad scholarship to a full-time undergraduate marketing major in the Mitchell College of Business with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

A scholarship is available to a student who has achieved sophomore, junior, or senior class status and holds a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Ann Blackburn Faulkner Scholarship in Piano Performance was established in 2019 in honor of the late Ann Blackburn Faulkner. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a full-time undergraduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recipient must be a rising Junior or Senior majoring in Piano Performance.

The Ann Greer Adams Scholarship in Piano Performance was established in 2017 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to deserving undergraduate student based on his/her piano performance. Student must have a minimum 3.0 institutional GPA.

A scholarship was established in 1985 and is open to students who are children and grandchildren of Veterans who served in either World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict, or the Vietnam Conflict, and received an Honorable Discharge from Service. Students must be residents of the state of Alabama.

The Anne Harrison Petty Scholarship was developed in 2004 in honor of Anne Harrison Petty, a physical therapist since 1977, and the department Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education from 1989 to 2004.

The Anthony Monge Endowed Scholarship was created in 2018 to provide scholarship support for a School of Computing student. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates with a 3.0 GPA.

The Armbrecht-Briskman Endowed Scholarship for Southerners was established in November 2013 by Eugenia L. "Gigi" Armbrecht and Holle W. Briskman. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the Southerner serving as President during each academic year. In addition to serving as President of The Southerners, the recipient must also maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

A scholarship was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to a junior or senior level student in good standing in USA College of Nursing. Recipient must be a child of a veteran and have a minimum 3.25.

The Aubrey D. Hartmann, Blackmon & Kilgore, P.C. Endowed Scholarship was established in 2015 for the purpose of providing a tuition scholarship for a full-time undergraduate student majoring in Accounting in the Mitchell College of Business. Applicants should be rising junior or senior students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and residents of Baldwin or Escambia counties in Alabama.

Scholarships Based on Affiliation

The Air Force ROTC Housing Scholarship and the Army ROTC Housing Scholarship are awarded to Air Force ROTC and Army ROTC cadets, respectively, to assist in covering their on-campus housing charges.

Scholarships for Specific Counties

USA Baldwin County established the Scholarship Now fund, offering all Baldwin County students an opportunity to help further their education during the current economic hardships. The Accounting Scholarship was established in 2012 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to an Accounting graduate student in the Mitchell College of Business MAcc program. Student must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and be a resident of Alabama. In the event no Accounting graduate student meets the minimum qualifications for the scholarship, the award may be redirected to an undergraduate student who is a Junior or Senior Accounting major with a minimum 3.5 GPA and a resident of Alabama.

The Angelia and Steven Stokes Graduate Creative Nonfiction Scholarship, the Angelia and Steven Stokes Graduate Fiction Scholarship, and the Angelia and Steven Stokes Graduate Poetry Scholarship were established to provide a $1,000 scholarship to a full-time graduate student who has taken at least one creative writing course prior to applying.

Study Abroad Scholarships

The Mitchell College of Business International Scholarship is intended to encourage Mitchell College students to study abroad.

The Alvin J. Williams Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad in Marketing was established in 2017 for the purpose of providing a study abroad scholarship to a full-time undergraduate marketing major in the Mitchell College of Business with a minimum 3.0 GPA in an approved study abroad program within the Mitchell College of Business. A scholarship is available to students who study abroad through MCOB sponsored programs in Costa Rica or London.

Another scholarship is available to students who has a 3.25 or higher GPA and is participating in a study abroad program within the Mitchell College of Business.

The Leonard A. Leemis Study Abroad Scholarship is available for students to study abroad.

The Janet Mahan Award was established by Dr. Howard F. Mahan in 1985 for students to provide financial assistance to study abroad.

OIE's Media Scholarship is awarded to a select number of study abroad students each year. Recipients receive a university issued Go Pro during their study abroad program. All Go Pro and interview footage will belong to USA and OIE. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be at least a sophomore. The Global Jaguar Scholarship was created by study abroad alumni to support future study abroad students.

Scholarships with preference given to those participating in USA faculty-led programs of 6 credit hours.
