The complex stands out for its versatility and commitment to community development.
Key Features of the Complex
The Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex is more than just a venue-it’s a community cornerstone that promotes health, education, and unity. The facility operates from 6 AM to 10 PM, Monday to Sunday.
Sports Facilities
The complex boasts a variety of sports facilities designed to cater to athletes and sports enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
Field House
Highlighting the Field House at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex is the 200-meter, Mondo SuperX Performance, six-lane, indoor track. The Field House is designed to make track meets and practices easy to manage, participate in, and watch. Sprint lanes on both sides of the track allow simultaneous sprint races, and the excellent track surface is the best available for races of any distance. The full-service scoreboard quickly displays the results of the runner’s place, time, and team score. An indoor throwing cage gives participants a chance to refine their techniques, and multiple areas for high jump, long jump, and pole vault allow field events to run quickly. Spectator seating for 3,000 gives an unobstructed view of the entire venue. The open, indoor area of the 75,000-square-foot Field House lends itself to non-track events. Overhead netting can be dropped down to partition off the infield from the track. Local teams and clubs are invited to contact staff at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex to set up regular practices and meets at the Field House. The facility is ideal for competition at all levels and competitors of all ages of competition, from youth meets to Olympic-level events. Providing meet officials is the responsibility of the team’s club or meet managers. Upcoming programs are planned to help youth participants improve their skills in different track and field events. The Field House regularly hosts beginner and intermediate track classes that promote skill development. Youth track camps are offered throughout the summer. The field house track and the outdoor track are available for scheduled community use. The Field House and Outdoor Stadium usage availability will be limited starting Saturday June 17. Due to Summer Programming.
Aquatic Center
Our 50-meter indoor pool can hold multiple events simultaneously. Our lap lanes are open for community members, and a host of water fitness classes and events, including swim practice for the local USA Swimming and high school teams. The pool is equipped to hold national and international swim meets with complete setups for touchpads and electronic timing systems. Rentals and the availability of the deep end of the pool will be limited and vary. When the focus is on fun, the indoor leisure pool is the place to relax. Swimmers can float along the Lazy River with its constant current, slide down the meandering water slide, or kick back in the 18-person spa and let the warm jets of water, with temperatures ranging from 102 to 104 degrees, ease away aches and pains. Kept at a constant 84 to 86 degrees, the leisure pool is also available for aqua arthritis classes. To prevent pool contamination, babies and children who are not potty-trained must wear plastic diaper panties over swim diapers. Classrooms adjacent to the pool are great for aquatics classes that include instruction both in and out of the water. Planning your child’s next birthday pool party has just gotten easier. With our new online reservation process, you can now book the perfect pool party with just a few clicks.
