To qualify for this scholarship, applicant must presently be enrolled in Sport Management Master’s degree program or a 3rd or 4th year Sport Management student. Student must establish monetary need and must have established a very strong educational background.
Erik K. M. Applicant must establish financial need and must show demonstrate academic excellence.
This is a grant for undergraduate students majoring in Physical Education Pedagogy or Sports Management. Applicants must be enrolled full-time.
Harold J. This grant is open to both Undergraduate and Graduate students.
Glenn M. Applicant must establish financial need and must show indication of academic excellence and must have evidence of leadership abilities.
Applicants should not have started any preliminary postgraduate studies and must perform with merit as a student council member at their corresponding undergraduate institution.

This award is given to incoming students who have received a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better at present school. This is also open to continuing students who got a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Partners in Sports Scholarships

Undergraduate and graduate Sport Management students who are current members of Partners in Sports are eligible to apply for the Partners in Sports Scholarships. Membership must be renewed each year as it is annual membership. A committee consisting of Recreation and Sport Management faculty will review the materials submitted by each applicant. Each student applying for a Partners in Sports Scholarship and Award is required to submit a cover letter and resume. The cover letter will explain the student’s reasons for the scholarship/award application. Related experience refers to any job, internship, practicum or volunteer work completed in the area of recreation and sport management.

NACA Multicultural Scholarship Program

The Multicultural Scholarship Program is part of the NACA Foundation’s affirmative action effort to increase the participation of ethnic minority individuals in the field of campus activities. The program is designed to provide economic assistance to qualified under-represented programmers, allowing them to attend NACA-sponsored training workshops, regional conferences and National Conventions. Applicants are to be identified as members of the Black, Latina/Latino, Native American, Asian American, or Pacific Islander ethnic minorities. NACA® membership is not a prerequisite for applicant consideration. At least one letter of recommendation from someone well acquainted with the applicant which should address his/her involvement in student activities and potential in the field. Recipients must submit a brief report (350-600 words) that describes the program and specifies how it met their professional development objectives to NACA following the program. The report must be submitted within 30 days of completion of the program.

NASCAR/Wendell Scott Award

Full-time undergraduate or graduate students attending 4-year HACU-member institutions with a declared major in Engineering, Business, Public Relations, Mass Media, Sports Marketing, Marketing, Marketing Management and Technology. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be attending school in the following states: FL, NC and GA.

NASCAR/Wendell Scott, Sr. Scholarship

For students pursuing studies in Engineering, Business, Public Relations, Mass Media, Sports Marketing, Marketing, Marketing Management and Technology. The candidates are eligible to receive a scholarship in the amount of $10,230. The undergraduate candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA scholarship while the graduate students must have at least a 3.2 GPA. In addition, candidates are encouraged to apply to NASCAR's internship program.

David L. MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicant must be a graduating senior at either Marshfield or Colby High School. Preference given to applicants involved in high school basketball program and expressing intention of pursuing program of study toward a degree in physical education or other sports related field. Financial need will be considered.

Johnson & Wales University Golf Management Scholarship

This award was established in 2000 for Ouimet Scholars attending the golf management program at Johnson & Wales University’s Miami campus. The scholarship has been established as an incentive for scholars interested in golf management. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts.

NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship

The NCAA awards $7,500 to 13 scholarships to ethnic minorities and 13 scholarships to female college graduates who will be entering their initial year of postgraduate studies. The applicant must be seeking admission or have been accepted into a sports administration or program that will help the applicant obtain a career in intercollegiate athletics, such as athletics administrator, coach, athletic trainer or a career that provides a direct service to intercollegiate athletics. Have an overall undergraduate minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.200 (based on a 4.000 scale) or its equivalent, including all undergraduate hours earned at all undergraduate institutions attended. Applicants must have performed with distinction as a student body member at their respective undergraduate institution.

Division II Degree Completion Award Program

The NCAA established the Division II Degree Completion Award Program in 2001 to provide deserving student-athletes financial assistance for them to complete their first baccalaureate degree. Candidates will be students who have exhausted their athletics eligibility and have received athletics financial aid. The selection process for the national award emphasizes the academic performance of the student-athlete.

SAFE Scholarships

SAFE annually awards scholarships to students who are planning a career in the sports turf industry. Each year, SAFE awards several named scholarships: the Dr. James Watson Graduate Scholarship, the Dr. James Watson Scholarships for Graduate, Four-year and Two-year students and the Dr. Fred Grau Scholarship. The Watson Scholarships are named in honor of long-time green industry researcher and consultant Dr. James Watson, are funded by the Toro Giving Program, and are presented to the top graduate and undergraduate scholarship recipients. The top recipient from a two-year program receives the Dr. Fred Grau scholarship, which is named in honor of the first turfgrass extension specialist in the United States. The applicants are judged on academic preparation, cumulative grade point average, experience in sports turf management, and references provided by student advisers and previous or current employers.

Paul Zwaska Scholarship

The Paul Zwaska Scholarship, presented by Beacon Athletics, promotes diversity within the profession through an annual scholarship program for students from groups underrepresented in SFMA. The scholarship award recognizes and encourages full-time students pursuing a career in the Sports Field Management profession. One scholarship per year in the amount of $2,500. accredited educational institution and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Candidates must be individuals from groups underrepresented in SFMA.

Darian Daily Legacy Scholarship

The Darian Daily Legacy Scholarship is designed to help parents/guardians provide an education for their children. Darian Daily Legacy Scholarship will be awarded each year in the amount of $2,500 each to (2) qualified individuals. Recipients must be currently enrolled or enrolling into a recognized college or university. This scholarship will support students who have chosen an academic field of study outside of the Turfgrass industry. Parent/Guardian of recipient must be a current SFMA National member for at least the past three years.

SRM Program Diversity Scholarships

The sport and recreation management (SRM) program, in its ongoing efforts to increase diversity in the undergraduate and graduate programs, invites individuals from marginalized or underrepresented groups to apply for one of several available Diversity Scholarships. Must identify as a member of a marginalized or underrepresented group. Declared major or master’s program must be Sport and Recreation Management (can be a double-major, but one major must be SRM). Must be in good academic standing, not on academic probation, and a registered full-time student.

John E. Evans Experiential Learning Award

The John E. Evans Experiential Learning Award was established in 2019 by John Evans Jr., Julie Evans, and Jane Evans through the Evans Family Foundation. Additionally, applicants must be in good academic standing and registered full-time students (less than full-time enrollment accepted if in the final semester before graduation or if a graduate student). Highest preference will be given to students majoring in SRM. Secondary preference will be given to students pursuing a minor in SRM. All students, regardless of major, are invited to apply. The SRM program will check financial need of all applicants in the Office of Financial Aid before awards are made.

SRM Leadership and Innovation Scholarships

To support and encourage student leaders and innovators in UI Sport and Recreation Management (SRM), the program invites current UI SRM undergraduate and master’s students to apply for SRM Leadership and Innovation Scholarships. Must be a declared Sport and Recreation Management program undergraduate (BS) or master’s (MA) student. Must be a registered full-time student.

SRM Program Incoming Graduate Student Scholarship (SRMIGSS)

To support the attainment of the Sport and Recreation Management (SRM) MA degree by students with the greatest financial need and increase the representation of students from underrepresented and marginalized groups in the sport and recreation industry, the program invites incoming graduate students for the summer or fall 2023 semester to apply for an SRM Program Incoming Graduate Student Scholarship (SRMIGSS).
