Navigating the SPS Student Portal: A Comprehensive Guide for Parents and Students
Student success is a shared responsibility, and parent engagement is a key factor in that success. In an effort to help you become more engaged, SPS uses the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The Stamford Public Schools has published a variety of materials in both English and Spanish to help guide parents and guardians through the process of setting up a PowerSchool Parent Portal account. This article will guide parents and students through the features, access procedures, and helpful resources available through the SPS Student Portal, ensuring everyone can effectively utilize this valuable tool.
Understanding the PowerSchool Parent Portal
The PowerSchool Parent Portal is available to all K-12 parents and provides access to grades and attendance. Every parent or guardian needs to register to use the Parent Portal. It is designed to enhance communication and collaboration between the school, students, and their families. Through this portal, parents can monitor their children's academic progress and stay informed about their school attendance.
Accessing Grades and Attendance
Grades are only shown after teachers have finished entering them and have published them to the portal. It is at the teacher's discretion when those grades are published to the portal. At a minimum, grades will be posted at the mid point of each quarter and at the end of the quarter. The Parent Portal gives you access to your children’s grades and attendance.
