Navigating the Stan State Student Portal: A Comprehensive Guide to Features and Resources
The Stan State Student Portal serves as a central hub for students, providing access to a wide array of resources and tools essential for academic success and campus life. This article delves into the key features of the portal, highlighting how students can leverage these resources to enhance their overall experience at Stanislaus State.
Enhanced Classroom Technology: Premium Classrooms
Stanislaus State is committed to providing a cutting-edge learning environment, and this is exemplified by the upgraded classroom technology available to students. The university offers a flexible technology solution for both remote and in-person attendance, benefiting both students and instructors.
These classrooms are fully upgraded with local and Zoom Room options, creating a seamless learning experience regardless of location. Each classroom is equipped with an instructor's PC, projector, document camera, BluRay and DVD players, HDMI and USB laptop connectors, and wireless screen share capabilities. Multiple cameras are strategically placed to capture the instructor and students, ensuring remote participants can fully engage with the class.
Previously, student assistants were responsible for managing the camera and audio for remote participants. However, thanks to the recent upgrades, these rooms now operate smoothly without the need for a separate operator. This streamlined system allows instructors to focus on teaching and students to focus on learning.
While regular Zoom Room technology supports both in-person and remote attendance, the six Premium Classrooms offer an enhanced experience. These classrooms provide camera views of the instructor along with their presentation, as well as the students present in the room, creating a more immersive and engaging learning environment for remote participants.

Stanalytics: Your Gateway to Data-Driven Insights
Stanalytics serves as the gateway to the Stanislaus State Data Warehouse, providing students and faculty with access to valuable data and insights. This powerful tool is comprised of several web-based applications that work in conjunction with the PeopleSoft application, as well as other data sources on campus. Stanalytics aims to empower decision-makers with the information they need to answer data-driven questions and make informed choices.
Microsoft Reporting Services
Microsoft Reporting Services (MRRS) is an operational reporting tool designed to generate various types of "canned" reports. These reports are designed to be quick and return specific lists of data, such as a list of biology majors. Users can easily view data by entering a few parameters for each report. This tool is intended for operational users who need quick access to specific data sets.
Common Financial System (CFS) Data Warehouse
The Common Financial System (CFS) Data Warehouse is hosted and maintained by the Chancellors Office, providing the campus with a set of interactive CFS dashboards. These dashboards contain common core financial reporting capabilities, as required by both the campus and the Chancellor’s Office. The CFS Data Warehouse includes a set of CFS data warehouse tables, the Oracle OBIEE reporting tool, and various reports and dashboards.
