Unlock Adventures: A Guide to Student Discount Tickets

College is a time for adventure, but it often means working with a tight budget. Fortunately, many organizations offer student discounts to make experiences more accessible. This guide explores various avenues for students to save money on travel, arts, and entertainment.

Travel Discounts for Students

Whether it’s backpacking across America or finding some extra study or social time on the trip home, Amtrak helps students get the most out of their travels.

Arts and Culture: Discounted Tickets to Performances

Verified Student Pricing

Verified college students can enroll (for free) in Verified Student Pricing and unlock $20 tickets to any performance. Online verification is processed via VerifyPass. Students unable to be verified online can present a valid, current photo student I.D. *$20 price includes fees; discount applicable for select seats, and availability varies by performance; limit 2 discounted tickets per performance. Benefit performances excluded from discounts. Some additional exclusions apply.

College Rush Tickets

College rush tickets are available 1 hour prior to showtime on a first-come, first-served basis. Rush tickets are offered on a per-production and per-performance basis and are subject to availability. Rush tickets must be purchased in-person and may be purchased with cash or major credit card. Students must present a valid, current photo student I.D. at the time of purchase. Seating locations are at the discretion of the Box Office. Patrons are strongly urged to call Audience Services at 310.208.2028 to determine eligibility and ticket availability. The $20 student rush ticket price includes applicable facility and convenience fees.

TeenTix LA: Accessing Art as a Teen

TeenTix LA is a youth development nonprofit organization that has been making arts and culture accessible to teenagers. TeenTix LA exists to break down the barriers that prevent teens from accessing art in our community, such as ticket or admission cost, not knowing where to look for events, navigating transportation around the city, and feeling insecure around arts-going if there's no one in their lives already championing the arts. Teens (age 13-19) can sign up for a TeenTixPass. Once you've signed up for a Pass, you're eligible for $5 tickets to the Geffen Playhouse. Directly on TeenTix LA's events calendar, you can learn more about Geffen events and get access to a Geffen code that becomes active 24 hours before each show. Just bring your TeenTixPass and your student ID to the box office to pick up your ticket. You can also purchase your $5 ticket using your TeenTixPass at the box office on the day of each show, beginning at 12 pm (subject to availability).
