Traditional Residence Halls

The traditional residence halls at Ole Miss offer a classic residential experience. Built between 1952 and 1973, these seven halls each have a unique set of amenities. Community bathrooms are conveniently located on each floor or wing. These halls include:

Summer Housing Application Information

Each summer session requires a separate application process, but the non-refundable $30 application fee is required only once. All Summer Application fees will be billed directly to the student’s Bursar account. If attending multiple terms, completing all applications at once is encouraged.

Application Instructions:

  1. Log into the Student Housing Portal.
  2. Select Summer, and then select the term.
  3. Complete all sections, including signing the electronic contract, paying the application fee, and selecting a room (May Intersession, Summer Full Term, Summer First Term, and Summer Second Term only). CT. CT

Residents may stay in their rooms during the time between August intersession and fall semester. Residents who are living with us during Summer Second Term may remain in their Summer Second Term spaces until August Intersession move in.

Important Application Information

First Year Residency Requirement

The University of Mississippi has a first-year residency requirement. All new, incoming first-year students who have completed less than 30 credit hours post-high school must complete the student housing application or have either an approved housing appeal or application for exemption from the first-year residency requirement.

Application Steps

  1. Electronically sign the student housing contract: Students will sign the housing contract using AdobeSign within the Student Housing Portal. Parents or legal guardians must sign the housing contract using AdobeSign before students can move forward in the housing application.
  2. Pay the $100 non-refundable application fee: This can be paid with a Visa or Mastercard.

Roommate Selection

The Student Housing Portal facilitates the roommate request and confirmation process. Students can search for potential roommates and confirm their selections within the portal.

Room Selection

After completing the necessary steps, students will receive access to room selection. During this time, students can choose from available rooms and apartments in the communities in which they are eligible to live.

Exemption from Residency Requirement

Exemptions from the first-year or transfer residency requirement are approved only for the following:

  • Students who are 20 years of age or older prior to the start of the academic year.
  • Students who will live with parents or legal guardians within a driving distance of 60 miles of the Oxford campus and commute.
  • Students who have graduated from high school at least one full year prior to enrollment at the university and have lived in college or university-owned or managed housing for at least two full semesters.
  • Students who are married.
  • Students with children.

Eligible students may submit an Application for Exemption in the Student Housing Portal.
