StudentVUE and MCPS: Enhancing Student Access and Support

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is committed to providing students with the resources they need to succeed. In line with this commitment, MCPS has implemented several initiatives, including a new online tutoring service and the Synergy Education Platform, along with StudentVUE mobile application, to enhance student access to academic information and support.

Beginning February 1st, MCPS will offer a free online tutoring and homework help service through TutorMe.com. This service is available to students in grades 3 through 12 and can be easily accessed through MCPS student Canvas and StudentVUE accounts. TutorMe.com offers on-demand assistance in all subjects, aligning with the MCPS curriculum and incorporating new curriculum tools.

Department of Student and Data Systems: Supporting MCPS Operations

The Department of Student and Data Systems plays a vital role in managing and enhancing student data systems within MCPS. This department oversees various critical functions, including:

  • Operations Development: Manages daily operations of the intranet, the Principal Memo platform, and the Online Registration Systems for enrolling new students, registering students for athletic teams, and the annual verification of emergency contact information. They also provide technical support to parents and schools, test new SIS enhancements, and create documentation for these new features.
  • Project Management: Oversees new Synergy SIS projects and develops process improvements into new efficiencies. In coordination with MCPS offices and the Department of Student and Data Systems, this team implements new functionality, system processes, and platform enhancements.
