Ordering Official Transcripts from Taft College: A Comprehensive Guide
For students and alumni of Taft College, obtaining official transcripts is a crucial step for various purposes, including transferring to other institutions, applying for jobs, or for personal record-keeping. This comprehensive guide outlines the process of ordering official transcripts from Taft College, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
Official vs. Unofficial Transcripts
It's important to understand the difference between official and unofficial transcripts. Official transcripts are printed on official transcript paper and bear the embossed seal or stamp of the school, the current date, and either the Registrar or Academic Dean's signature. They are typically sent directly to the recipient in a sealed envelope and are considered official only if the seal remains unbroken. Unofficial transcripts, on the other hand, are typically available online and do not carry the same level of validation. Note that unofficial transcripts will NOT be notarized.
PLEASE NOTE: Transcripts ONLY reflect end-of-semester grades (1 and 2), not mid-semester grades.
Ordering Official Transcripts Through Parchment
Taft College has partnered with Parchment to streamline the transcript ordering process. Parchment serves as the designated agent for processing and sending official transcripts, including electronic EDI transcripts and PDF transcripts. This online service ensures compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), protecting the privacy of students’ educational records.
