Tampa Medical College (TMC) aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the healthcare field. The college offers a range of programs, from practical nursing to advanced degrees in nursing, catering to various career aspirations and levels of experience. TMC is located at 5701 E. Hillsborough Ave. Suite 2409 Tampa FL 33610, inside Net Park, Tampa Bay. The facility occupies about 10,700 square feet and includes a reception area, business, and administrative offices, a filing room, a printer room, classrooms, laboratories classroom, simulation rooms, and a library. The campus is equipped with computers for students’ use located in the library.
Practical Nursing Program
The Practical Nursing program combines theoretical instruction, laboratory work, and hands-on clinical experience. This program aims to prepare students for entry-level positions as Practical Nurses. Students are required to attend on-ground clinical rotations at Hospital Simulation Lab and local clinical facilities.

Associate of Science in Nursing Degree Programs
The Associate of Science in Nursing Degree programs have Five (5) general education courses required. Students must complete education courses prior to entering the final semester in the Pre-Licensure Degree programs. Students must complete pre-nursing courses prior to beginning Core Nurses courses. Pre-nursing courses may be transferred in or taken with Tampa Medical College.
Associate of Science in Nursing with Telehealth
The Associate of Science Degree in Nursing with Telehealth program integrates foundational nursing education with the principles and practices of telehealth. The program incorporates theoretical instruction, laboratory, and practical clinical experience of foundational nursing with Telehealth. The student must complete laboratory and/or clinical rotations in Fundamentals, Pharmacology, Maternity, Pediatric, Medical Surgical, Community, Geriatric, Mental Health, Leadership and Management, and Telehealth.

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as entry-level Registered Nurses. The program prepares graduates for work in Acute, Subacute, Community, and Long-Term Care facilities and as well as working remotely utilizing Telehealth Medicine. The Associate of Science of Nursing with Telehealth program courses are offered residentially for core nursing courses and via hybrid methodology for pre-nursing and exit courses. Students meet with the instructor at regularly scheduled intervals in an on-ground or virtual classroom for live or “real-time” communication and interaction between the instructor and students. Students access materials that are prerecorded or created allowing the learner to access them at their own pace within specified periods of time.

It also enabled older adults, people with disabilities or other pre-conditions, and residents of remote areas to gain access to essential nursing services virtually. For Example, Florida now allows out-of-state nurses to register in Florida and work remotely in Florida. Another example is that nurses licensed in North Carolina could only treat patients from North Carolina.

RN to BSN Program
The RN to BSN program is designed for registered nurses with an associate degree or diploma in nursing who are looking to further their education. The RN-BSN program provides the academic knowledge and skills necessary to advance in the nursing field by seeking a higher-level position and/or applying for graduate study in nursing. The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as mid-level Registered Nurses.
The curriculum for the RN to BSN program follows the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s (AACN) Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice and the American Nurses Association’s (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice. General education may be transferred in or taken with Tampa Medical College. Students meet with the instructor at regularly scheduled intervals in an on-ground or virtual classroom for live or “real-time” communication and interaction between the instructor and students. MSN Nurse Educator Track
There are two (2) points of entry into the MSN Nurse Educator program. MSN Nurse Educator Track nursing application. The applicant must meet general admissions and Clinical requirements.
The curriculum for the Master’s in Nursing Nurse Educator Track prepares the student for the role of a nurse educator in either in a clinical professional development setting or an academic setting. The MSN in Nursing Education allows the student to use their nursing experience as a basis to teach both students and other nurses. Students will learn how to design teaching plans, implement evidence-based teaching strategies, design and evaluate curriculum and implement active teaching methods to engage students in a student-centered learning environment. Students will meet with the instructor at regularly scheduled intervals in an on-ground or virtual classroom for live or “real-time” communication and interaction. Students access materials that are prerecorded or created allowing the learner to access them at their own pace within specified periods of time. There are two nurse certifications offered by the National League of Nurses.

There are two (2) points of entry into the MSN Nurse Educator program. Master of Science in Nursing-Informatics and Telehealth Track applicants must meet general admissions and Clinical requirements.
The Master of Science in Nursing Informatics and Telehealth Track is designed for ASN or BSN-prepared nurses. The curriculum is focused on the application of information technology, data science in healthcare delivery, telehealth platforms and models for practice, evidence-based telehealth technology, quality improvement measures, and regulatory, reimbursement and policy factors. The curriculum is in alignment with Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform (TIGER) which is focused on education reform and interprofessional community development. Students meet with the instructor at regularly scheduled intervals in an on-ground or virtual classroom for live or “real-time” communication and interaction between the instructor and students. Students access materials that are prerecorded or created allowing the learner to access them at their own pace within specified periods of time.
According to the American Nurses Association, nursing informatics is a “specialty that integrates nursing science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice. [It] supports nurses, consumers, patients, the interprofessional health care team, and other stakeholders in their decision-making in all roles and settings to achieve desired outcomes. The program will also prepare students to sit for the Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC) through the American Nurses Association. Have practiced a minimum of 1,000 hours in informatics nursing in the last 3 years and completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of academic credit in informatics courses that are part of a graduate-level informatics nursing program. The ANCC Informatics Nursing board certification examination is a competency-based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of registered nurses in the informatics specialty after initial RN licensure. This credential is valid for 5 years. You can continue to use this credential by maintaining your license to practice and meeting the renewal requirements in place at the time of your certification renewal.

The 2020 Nursing Informatics Workforce Survey found that 49% of nurse informaticists were earning salaries above $100,000. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMMS) survey discovered that nurse informaticists (63%) earn a salary that ranges from $61,000 to $115,000. The Master of Science in Nursing program allows the registered nurse to continue their education to become an advanced practice nurse and specialize in one of three (3) concentration areas: (1) Nursing Informatics with Telehealth, (2) The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and (3) Nurse Educator. Tampa Medical College MSN allows students to complete two specialized nursing disciplines. The MSN multi-specialization track program is designed for those students wishing to complete two disciplines simultaneously. Two-track specializations Degrees are an excellent way to get the most out of your education investment. Typically, Students may be able to complete coursework for both degrees simultaneously. In some cases, you will be able to complete your practice experience requirements for both degrees at the same time as well.

The Nursing Simulation Lab (NSL) supports hands-on clinical teaching and learning of the required skills and competencies for professional nursing practice.
