Tarbut V' Torah Community Day School (TVT) is a private school located in Irvine, CA. TVT is one of Orange County's oldest independent, college preparatory, co-educational day schools for students in grades TK through 12. The school has been warm and welcoming to our entire family and we look forward to spending many more years at TVT. TVT truly became a second home to me, a place I grew up surrounded by people who forever positively impacted my life. The teachers are caring and nurturing while encouraging the kids to do their best. The differentiated approach to learning allows students to learn at their own pace and keeps them challenged. The campus is beautiful and is set up in villages so it feels small and intimate for each grade.

Understanding Tuition Costs

TVT Community Day School appreciates and understands the significant sacrifice and financial investment each family makes in their children’s education at our school. Grades 9-12:$44,985. It is important to consider the costs of private school, including fees, uniforms, and extras parents must budget for beyond tuition.

Tuition Protection Plan

The Tuition Protection Plan ("TPP") was established to provide parents with the opportunity to insure their tuition obligation in the event of a withdrawal of the student from Tarbut V'Torah Community Day School ("TVT") during the school year. TPP covers a portion of the tuition still owed or previously paid in the event of a withdrawal of a student. Parents who select any deferred payment plan are required to purchase TPP.

Understanding that each family's financial situation is unique, TVT is dedicated to meeting the demonstrated and documented needs of each family.

TVT’s Financial Assistance Program is designed to make a TVT education possible for families based on demonstrated need and the availability of funds. We partner with Clarity to provide a secure and thorough review of each family’s financial picture, including assets, income, expenses, and debts. TVT does not use financial capacity as a consideration in determining a student’s eligibility for admission. The Admission Committee considers each applicant without knowing whether the applicant's family is applying for financial assistance.

How Financial Assistance is Awarded

In an effort to provide a uniform and objective evaluation of applications, TVT utilizes the services of Clarity, an organization dedicated to objectively establishing financial profiles of its applicants for the purpose of assessing financial assistance needs. Each applicant family is required to complete the Clarity application, provide the requested documents, and pay the required processing fee.

Determining Financial Need

TVT believes that all parents have a moral and ethical obligation to contribute to the expense of educating their children, whether or not they have the legal obligation to do so. The assets and income of all parents are required for consideration in making a financial assistance award.

If the non-custodial parent has no contact with the custodial parent or the student(s) [their child(ren)], or it is not in the best interest of the student, the requirement of financial aid forms from the non-custodial parent may be waived. The guiding principle is based on “lack of contact” for a period of time, which must be proved by the custodial parent. A letter of verification from a third party, (i.e.

Financial assistance must be separately applied for each year. TVT understands the importance of continuity in a child’s education. However, with limited funds available for financial assistance as well as evolving families’ financial needs, it is impossible to guarantee a continuance of financial assistance.

Application Process for Financial Aid

Applications for the 2026-27 school year open on November 3, 2025.

For New Families:

Apply for Admission: Complete the Application for Admission for your child(ren). Financial assistance applications are only reviewed after the student application is on file.
Submit the Clarity Application by February 1, 2026: TVT uses the Clarity Application to determine financial need based on a family’s full financial picture. The application takes less than 30 minutes, is mobile-friendly, and allows you to save your progress. There is a $60 submission fee. You can also share your application with other schools that use Clarity at no extra charge.

For Returning Families:

If you already have a financial assistance award, you must renew through Clarity by December 1, 2025. Families who do not currently receive financial assistance but wish to be considered may also submit a new Clarity Application by this deadline.

Academic Programs

From the time students enter, they participate in both Jewish studies and Hebrew language along with our dynamic secular curricula utilizing technology and e-curriculum that embraces students for their individual strengths and talents.

At each grade level we have systems in place to meet the needs of each student's level of Hebrew. In the Lower School, students are arranged within the class according to the appropriate level (beginning, intermediate and advanced). Additionally, we have Hebrew Resource Specialists and a pull-out program for those that need even more personalized instruction.

Extracurricular Activities

All three schools offer a variety of co-curriculars at no additional cost to parents.

TVT has a parent association with many opportunities to get involved at every level of participation. In the Lower School, opportunities include: volunteering in the classroom, field trip chaperones, weekly Kabbalat Shabbat services and holiday celebrations.

Yes, we have a selection of after-school enrichment classes as part of our Explorers After School Enrichment Program. These offerings are available Monday-Thursday. TVT also offers after-school care until 6 PM (Mon- Thursday) and 5:30 PM (Friday). Please inquire with the admissions office for more information.

In addition to our programs on campus, parents can utilize the after-care programs at the Merage Jewish Community Center located adjacent to our campus.

Athletics

Middle School girls (grades 6-8) can compete in Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer. Middle School boys can compete in Flag Football, Basketball and Soccer. They can also participate in a co-ed Cross-Country club.

Varsity girls (grades 9-12) can compete in Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, and Soccer. Varsity boys can compete in Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Baseball, Soccer, and Golf. Varsity Cross Country is co-ed. Total Sports Offered8 sports.
