Temple University College of Science and Technology: A Comprehensive Overview of Programs and Opportunities
The College of Science and Technology (CST) at Temple University offers a multitude of programs and opportunities for students interested in exploring and discovering the world through science and technology. With a focus on real-world research, dedicated advising, and career development, CST provides a rich environment for undergraduate and graduate students alike.
Academic Departments and Majors
CST houses six academic departments: Biology, Chemistry, Computer & Information Sciences, Earth & Environmental Science, Mathematics, and Physics. These departments offer dozens of majors, allowing students to critically examine the world around them, whether it’s studying the biological processes within the human body or geological formations found deep inside the earth. Students can find the right field of study-or combination of disciplines-that match their interests and career goals.
Research Opportunities
CST Undergraduate Research Program (URP)
The College of Science and Technology offers the CST Undergraduate Research Program (URP). Students selected to participate work with a faculty sponsor to perform research in the faculty member's lab.
Research Scholars Program
At CST, students have opportunities to do real-world research with top researchers through the Research Scholars Program. Students work in advanced labs, with high performance computers or at field locations. You can even get paid for summer research activities.
TUteach Program
TUteach combines a rigorous academic program with real-world teaching experience. Through TUteach, you earn a bachelor’s degree in a science or mathematics discipline, gain practical classroom experience and graduate ready to qualify for a teaching certificate.
