Rotational Associates can expect to complete three 8-month rotational assignments within key areas of the Product and Business Development organizations. These areas include:

These rotations are designed to improve business acumen and build an understanding of TIAA's enterprise strategy. Rotation assignments are determined by a combination of business needs, the associate's skills and experience, and their desired career path.

- Gain knowledge across various business functions of the Product and Business Development organization to help inform their career trajectory.
- Support a variety of projects by leveraging project management tools and processes to ensure seamless information flow across teams.
- Assist in preparing information and research materials by leveraging Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Complete required in-person, virtual, and on-demand training sessions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to help deliver on product or solution strategy.
- Conduct meetings with subject matter experts to understand product offerings, lifecycles, features, and benefits.

Rotational Assignments Breakdown
Each rotation lasts for eight months and focuses on different aspects of product and business development:
Rotation 1:
- Retirement Products: Support product management activities for TIAA’s retirement products and solutions, including TIAA Traditional, Secure Income Account, GFA, TIAA Stable Value, CREF, Real Estate Account, Individual Retirement Accounts, RetirePlus, In-plan Managed Accounts (Retirement Plan Portfolio Manager (RPPM) and Advisor Managed Accounts (AMA)), as well as maintaining TIAA’s enterprise National Accounts with over 450 fund providers.
- Product Development & Innovation: Support new product development, innovation, and incubation for the organization's product and business development teams.
- Business Strategy & Operations: Support the business strategy and planning process to build and develop capabilities, driving execution discipline and operational effectiveness to deliver on the enterprise strategy.
- Business Development: Support the development of strategic partnerships and related business opportunities in the Corporate Retirement market for TIAA, in addition to supporting third-party implementation efforts.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Cyber-Security, Engineering.
- Rising senior (current junior) or first-year graduate-level student.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (2+ years academic or work experience with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Visa Sponsorship
TIAA does not sponsor visas for entry-level/internship positions and, due to program format, will not hire individuals whose work eligibility is based on an F-1 or other student visa status, including students who receive a STEM OPT extension.
TIAA-CREF Actuarial Scholars Program
The TIAA-CREF Actuarial Scholars Program is a combination tuition award and mandatory summer internship awarded to promising UNC Charlotte students intending to pursue a career in the Actuarial Profession.
Eligibility
- Eligible students shall provide a current resume.
- Provide a recent transcript.
- Provide two letters of reference from University Faculty Members.
- Provide any additional supporting letters from other individuals as desired.
- Provide a statement of purpose.
- Provide a letter of interest.
Good Standing
Scholars must remain in Good Standing, both academically and in terms of student discipline. Failure by an Intern to remain in Good Standing will result in forfeiture of the remainder of the Award. If the forfeiture occurs in the middle of a semester, the Intern will be required to return a pro-rated portion of the tuition award from that semester.
Internship Award
During the first summer following the start of the award, the Intern will receive a Stipend of four thousand dollars ($4000), subject to the standard deductions for taxes, FICA, etc., in exchange for an internship at the Charlotte campus of TIAA-CREF. This Stipend is based on a salary of ten dollars ($10) per hour for a forty (40) hour week for ten (10) consecutive weeks running from the last week of May until mid-August.

The Award may be renewed for a subsequent year if the Intern remains in Good Standing. The Award shall not exceed either one summer stipend or four (4) semesters.
