Turtle Creek Learning Academy: A Foundation for Lifelong Learning
Choosing the right preschool and kindergarten is a vital step in providing children with a rewarding introduction to the world of learning. Turtle Creek Learning Academy (TCLA) aims to provide an enriching, supportive, and nurturing environment where children can take their first steps toward independence.
A Child-Centered Curriculum
TCLA's curriculum is designed to be well-rounded and child-centered, providing ample opportunities for children to explore their individuality and build on their successes. The approach focuses not only on giving children access to information, but also on equipping them with the skills they need to access that information effectively.
By teaching skills such as:
- Critical thinking
- Investigation
- Problem-solving
- Effective communication
TCLA aims to give children the grounding in transferable skills needed to take charge of their learning journey.
Programs Offered
Three-Year-Old Program
The three-year-old program addresses the social and emotional needs of young children. It provides a safe, stimulating, and playful environment where children develop the behavioral and language skills necessary to successfully interact with their classmates and teachers. This program also fosters the self-esteem needed to confidently explore their world. The curriculum is focused on the development of readiness skills, with a concentration on early language and literacy development, as well as mathematical concepts of numbers, counting, and shapes. The teacher-to-student ratio is approximately 1:7, assuring loving, nurturing, individualized care and supervision. Children entering this program are required to be potty trained.

Pre-Kindergarten Program
The pre-kindergarten program builds upon the social, emotional, motor, and academic skills acquired in the three-year-old program. At this stage, children are beginning to understand the symbolic representation of letters and numbers; letters have associated sounds, and numerals are related to number concepts. This is a very exciting time for children as their brains continue to grow exponentially. The teacher-to-student ratio remains approximately 1:7, ensuring that each child receives the individual attention needed to move along the developmental continuum with expertise and love.
Kindergarten Program
TCLA's kindergarten curriculum provides many opportunities for students to develop their readiness skills until they can master concepts and understandings at their instructional level. This program is suited for students who would flourish in a private school setting with a smaller class size and individual attention or for those students who miss their school’s cutoff date. Besides delivering engaging and robust math and reading programs, the kindergarten program offers more opportunities for creative and critical thinking. Teachers use students’ interests to plan units of studies, especially in science, and then they create activities to expand on this understanding. Technology is used as a resource to broaden knowledge and to differentiate instruction, especially in reading and math. STEAM activities are woven into the core curriculum. Creative thinking is not just apparent in the arts but also developed through other content areas. Children not only play games but create games. Brainstorming activities and idea generation help students to think outside the box. All of these activities create habits of mind to help students expand their thinking and view themselves as creative and critical thinkers and resourceful learners.
Enrichment Programs
TCLA also offers enrichment programs designed to enhance the development of students’ critical and creative thinking skills. Robust courses in the core curriculum of literacy are offered. These programs are designed for motivated students who need a greater academic challenge through a rigorous curriculum and small-group instruction.
The Learning Experience (TLE)
The Learning Experience (TLE) is another preschool that aims to provide a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Several parents have expressed their satisfaction with the care and education their children receive at TLE. The staff is described as friendly, kind, and welcoming, and the teachers are praised for their dedication and ability to create a fun and safe environment for the kids. TLE emphasizes safety, cleanliness, a strong curriculum, and a friendly staff. Engaging TLE learning characters appear in every lesson, turning abstract ideas into memorable stories and modeling values such as kindness, curiosity, and teamwork.
Affordability
TCLA understands that childcare is a significant cost for parents, which is why they strive to keep their prices competitive. They offer a high-value curriculum that significantly enhances a child’s life.
