The Workday Enterprise Systems (WES) team is pleased to announce upcoming improvements to the Delegation Assignments functionality in Workday.

Faculty Agreements

The distribution and signing of UCF’s fall faculty agreements transitioned to Workday effective July 7.

I-9 Forms and Faculty Summer Appointments Microlearnings

Two microlearnings are now available in Workday Learning for UCF staff responsible for completing I-9 forms and faculty summer appointments. These microlearnings provide refresher training to UCF staff and contain self-paced content that is a combination of video recordings and documentation. HRBC Report Guide

HR kNEXT is pleased to announce the development of the HRBC Report Guide which contains a summary of Workday Reports that HR Business Center (HRBC) employees will need to access and run to monitor the accuracy of dates in Workday. This guide lists each report and provides helpful information regarding the specific report.

Pay Component Group Changes

The Workday Enterprise System, Grants and Payroll are announcing changes to the Pay Component Group. Changes involve new and revised earning codes that are scheduled to go into effect in Workday during the pay period cycle of January 31-February 13. The new or updated earning codes provide the ability to efficiently break out (Senior) Personnel from Other Personnel Services (OPS). They also eliminate the need to manually correct via allocations and journal entries by utilizing the correct Pay Component Group for Eligible OPS Earnings and posting to Object Class is Standard: 2000 Other Personnel Services.

Federal Work Study (FWS) Fringe Expense

The fringe expense for Federal Work Study (FWS) overflow earnings was not configured in Workday to apply the 2% fringe rate since the rate was implemented. As a result, the 2% fringe rate was not being calculated on the earnings exceeding their award amount. Moving forward, the 2% fringe expense will be applied only to the portion of earnings that exceed the FWS award amount. These expenses will be charged to the default organizational assignments Worktags.

Professional Master of Science in Management, Human Resources Track

The Professional Master of Science in Management, Human Resources Track is accredited by AACSB International. This program is offered every other fall term, odd years.

Curriculum and Alignment

The PMSM/HR curriculum is formally aligned with the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). It is designed for working professionals who aspire to become leaders in human resource management or general management. This 30-hour program provides an alternative to the MBA degree for students who desire specialized study in management and human resources and seek employment or career advancement in the areas of human resources, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, staffing, compensation, and employee relations.

The innovative curriculum combines general management and strategic business classes with advanced coursework in management of human resources. It provides students with the latest business techniques and knowledge required to succeed in today's competitive marketplace. One main component of the program is a focus on developing practices and methods that align human resources activities with organizational strategies and provide students with the knowledge required to successfully anticipate, plan, and carry out changes.

Program Details

  • 20-month program offered in downtown Orlando
  • Limited class size, cohort program
  • Classes meet Monday and Wednesday evenings
  • Minimum two-year professional work experience requirement
  • Personal interview required for admission
  • Offered every other fall term

Students with a wide variety of backgrounds, including those with degrees in business, education, hospitality, nursing, and psychology are encouraged to apply. This program is a professional program with a market rate tuition and is considered a part-time program. The tuition is the same for Florida residents and nonresidents.

SHRM Certification

Students are eligible to apply for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam in their final year of study if they have a minimum of 500 hours of relevant experience. Students take a SHRM certification prep course during their final semester to prepare for taking the exam.
