UCF Softball Pitcher Roster Stats: A Deep Dive

Further solidifying the pitching staff's early dominance, one pitcher tossed a seven-inning complete game in her UCF debut against Illinois.
The team's pitching prowess continued as another pitcher spun four innings of scoreless, one-hit ball in the Knights' 8-0 run-rule win over George Mason. Also, another pitcher threw her second complete game of the season in UCF's five-inning 8-0 run-rule win over Columbia. February also saw a pitcher allow only one run in 1.2 innings pitched against then-No. 20 Liberty and another recorded her first collegiate strikeout against Louisville. The early season accolades culminated in a Conference USA Pitcher of the Week selection for one pitcher.
Mid-Season Contributions
As the season progressed into March and April, the UCF pitching staff continued to deliver crucial performances. In the Knights' three-game series against then-No. 2 Texas March 22-24, one pitcher threw a team-high five scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and one walk with three strikeouts in two appearances. Another pitcher earned her first collegiate winning decision, complete game, and complete game shutout April 2 against North Florida, allowing just one hit and two walks in UCF's 9-0, five-inning run-rule victory.

Prior to joining UCF, several pitchers had already established themselves as exceptional athletes. One pitcher was decorated with multiple honors her senior year, named South Carolina's 4A Player of the Year, Region 7 Player of the Year, All-State Team and North-South Team. During her senior campaign, she dialed up six no-hitters and 15 shutouts, collecting 25 wins and striking out 344 batters along the way. In her junior year, she led the state of South Carolina in strikeouts with 254, breaking the North Augusta High School single season strikeouts record, all while posting an ERA of 0.70. One pitcher was also a 1x Conference USA Pitcher of the Week (Feb. ).
