Specialized Programs

UCLA provides comprehensive training in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with TMD and orofacial pain disorders. Participants will gain insight into the evolving standards of care for TMD developed over the last three decades within academic communities worldwide. This course bridges medical and dental perspectives on TMD and orofacial pain disorders. Topics include Arthrogenous TMD and diagnosis.

The UCLA Dental Implant Continuum offers an intensive, multi-module program designed to train dental professionals in implant surgery and restoration. Participants will gain expertise in implant placement, immediate loading protocols, ridge reconstruction, aesthetic zone management, and more. Hands-on workshops and live surgeries ensure skill mastery. Participants will engage with material consistent with DEA standards, focusing on the prevention, recognition, and care of individuals with substance use disorders.

Custom Continuing Dental Education Courses

UCLA Dentistry’s Office of Continuing Dental Education (CDE) strives to fulfill all the needs of our audience. To that end, they offer custom continuing dental education courses for dentists and clinicians from your group or university. These courses are of the highest caliber and provide the best in clinical education from esteemed instructors, many of whom are full-time faculty.

Course Design and Structure

Custom courses can be designed for four to 12 days and can accommodate a group of any size. Based on experience, a group between 20 to 90 works best. Course content, speakers, and dates will be chosen to best fit the needs and desires of the individuals in the course. Content can focus on a singular subject (i.e., Implants or Aesthetics) or a variety of topics, depending on the specifications of the requesting group. Hands-on workshops and live surgery demonstrations are also available.

Location and Travel

Most custom courses would be held at the UCLA School of Dentistry, located in Los Angeles, California. Instructors are also available to travel to your location for a portion of the course.

UCLA campus is located about 10 miles (16 km) North of Los Angeles International Airport. The majority of CE courses are held on the UCLA Campus at the School of Dentistry, in the Center for Health Science (CHS) complex. The physical building address is 714 Tiverton Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90095. Typically, course check-in takes place on the 1st floor lobby of the school.

Additional Services

Fees include course handouts, plus breakfast and lunch. For an additional fee, professional translation services can be arranged while the course is taking place. Assistance arranging tour groups and booking quality hotels near UCLA campus can be coordinated through the CE office.

Concluding Ceremony

Your custom course concludes with an official ceremony and dinner of completion on the historic UCLA campus and includes a signed certificate by the Director of Continuing Dental Education, Dr.
