UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge: A Mountain Retreat for All

The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge, formerly known as the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center until 2020, is a picturesque mountain retreat nestled in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest on the north shore of Lake Arrowhead. With roots dating back to 1922, when its main lodge building was established, the property has a rich history of providing a serene and productive environment for various gatherings.

A Storied Past and a Welcoming Future

From 1957, the property operated as a conference center under the direction of various University of California campuses. In 1982, leadership of the property was transferred to UCLA. For many years, it served as a beloved location for UCLA meetings, conferences, retreats, team-building events, and other educational gatherings.

However, recognizing the potential to broaden its appeal, the lodge underwent a rebranding in 2020. As Angelis stated, "It was apparent that we needed to expand the scope of who could book reservations and what kinds of activities could take place." Now, affiliation with UCLA or the University of California is no longer required to stay or book events at the lodge.

A New Identity, Rooted in Tradition

To reflect this expanded scope, Lake Arrowhead Lodge introduced a new logo featuring a brown bear, water, and trees. This imagery symbolizes the lodge’s connection to UCLA as well as its surrounding flora and fauna. Matteson noted, "Not many people know that Lake Arrowhead is referred to as the ‘Alps of Southern California.’ We are really looking forward to continuing to make lasting memories with our new guests, and introducing ourselves to the world in a new way."

Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian
An adult age 18 or older must assume all liability for the booking. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 PM please contact the property in advance using the information on the booking confirmation. Front desk staff will greet guests on arrival at the property.
