Academic Goals: Define your academic goals and choose courses accordingly.
Major Selection: Select a major and understand its specific preparatory requirements. Transfer admission depends on completing this coursework with a competitive GPA.

2. Eligibility and Coursework

Before starting the UC transfer application, ensure you meet the minimum eligibility requirements.

College Coursework: You must have completed college-level coursework in a regular session at any college or university since graduating from high school. You cannot disregard your college record and apply as a first-year student.

GPA Requirements

Minimum GPA: The UCLA transfer requirements state that transfers need to have a 3.2 minimum GPA to be considered for admission. This is much higher than the general UC transfer application requirements.
Competitive GPA: Students admitted as transfers to UCLA in 2024 had a mid-50th percentile GPA range of 3.77-4.0. The average GPA of admitted transfer students is above 3.5.

Course Transferability

New Student Orientation: New Student Orientation is mandatory for all new undergraduate students. During orientation, you will become acclimated to both the academic and social life at UCLA. There are 12 different orientation sessions for first-year students, including two sessions dedicated to out-of-state and international students.
