Refund Policy

UMass Chan Medical School has a specific refund policy for students who withdraw from their programs. The complete refund policy can be accessed online.

General Refund Policy

Students who cease enrollment after 60 percent of the term has elapsed receive no refund and are not required to refund any federal aid received for the term. Students who cease enrollment before 60 percent of the term has elapsed receive a refund for the percentage of the term remaining after the last date of attendance. The percentage is calculated by dividing the number of calendar days elapsed between the beginning of the term and the date the individual ceases enrollment by the number of calendar days in the term. A share of the refund will be returned to the financial aid programs that funded students.

Students must notify the dean of their respective school and the Registrar in writing of their intent to withdraw. Upon request, the School Bursar will provide examples of the application of this policy.

Direct Deposit for Stipends

Students of Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and PhD/MD students are required to set up Direct Deposit for receiving their bi-weekly stipends from HR. This Direct Deposit is different from the one required for tuition payments.

This program is for the nurse who has passed the NCLEX, obtained their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and is ready to use their knowledge from the biological, psychological, social and nursing sciences.
Nurses who have completed their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), not necessarily from UMass but from the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission or the Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education accredited entity, can sit for an extra certification exam.
This program is for those who hold a Nursing diploma or an Associate of Science (ASN/ADN) and a Bachelor's degree in another field.
