Eligibility and Options

First-year students enrolled in six or more credit hours are eligible for on-campus housing. The University’s undergraduate housing is clustered in five neighborhoods located across Illinois State’s 850-acre campus: Hewett-Manchester, Tri-Towers, Watterson Towers, Cardinal Court, Fell Avenue and School Street apartments. Each area provides its own unique feel. Convenient and affordable, University Housing Services locations are all within walking distance of campus, with easy access to classrooms, facilities, and athletic venues.

For eligible students, apartment-style living options are available under the academic year agreement for residence halls.

Neighborhood Overview

ISU’s undergraduate housing is organized into distinct neighborhoods, each offering a unique atmosphere and set of amenities. Hewett-Manchester

Guest Policy

To ensure the safety and security of all residents, University Housing Services has established a guest policy. Effective August 1, 2025, guests ages 13-17 must have parent/guardian permission submitted in advance via the Minor Guest Registration Form. Guests under 13 are only permitted when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Exceptions may apply during Homecoming or Siblings Weekends.

All residence halls are within walking distance from the University’s picturesque Quad.
