Campus recreation is known as "ChargerREC," with a home base in the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center. There are 20 intramural offerings in three divisions (men's, women's, and co-REC), subdivided by skill level.
The University of New Haven's teams are known as the Chargers. On July 1, 2025, the University of New Haven became a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC) and begins its transition to NCAA Division I during the 2025-26 academic year. The University offers 20 varsity sports and has approximately 526 student-athletes. Collectively, the University of New Haven's teams have been to the playoffs over 275 times. The Career Development Center (CDC) is a comprehensive center for career advising, internships, and other career-related preparation and development. During the 2023-2024 academic year, the CDC posted 11,312 jobs and internships available to University of New Haven students. Cost and Financial Aid
The Cost of Attendance consists of direct charges from the University as well as other general expenses incurred by the student during an academic year. The University is required to use a weighted average for housing and food costs, which can range from $19,538 to $21,922. Approximately 99 percent of full-time undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid. The average amount of financial aid received from all sources was $23,566.
