The University of Central Florida is currently accepting applications through the Common Application for First Year students only.

Rolling Admission

UCF operates on a rolling admission basis. This means that the university reviews applications as they are received and makes admission decisions throughout the application cycle. You will receive an admission decision once all supporting documentation has been received. Applying early is encouraged, as it may increase your chances of scholarship consideration and housing availability. 3.75+: 86%
3.50-3.74: 12%
3.25-3.49: 1%
3.00-3.24: Less than 1%
2.50-2.99: Less than 1%

If your GPA is at or below the school average, a higher SAT or ACT score can compensate.

Standardized Testing: SAT and ACT

UCF requires either the SAT or ACT for admission. While the university may not have strict score cutoffs, strong scores can significantly increase your chances of acceptance.

SAT: The 25th percentile SAT score is 1210, and the 75th percentile SAT score is 1340.
ACT: The average ACT score at UCF is 27. The 25th percentile ACT score is 25, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 29.

Superscoring

UCF employs a "superscoring" policy for the SAT. This means that the university will consider your highest section scores from multiple test dates, combining them to create your best possible Superscore. You can take the SAT as many times as you want, then submit only the tests that give you the highest Superscore. If your SAT superscore is currently below a 1277, consider prepping for the SAT and retaking it. Because of the Superscore, you can focus all your energy on a single section at a time.

Most colleges do not superscore the ACT.

Acceptance Rate

The acceptance rate at UCF is 44.7%, making it moderately selective. The school expects you to meet their requirements for GPA and SAT/ACT scores, but they're more flexible than other schools. If you exceed their requirements, you have an excellent chance of getting in. Because this school is moderately selective, strong academic performance will almost guarantee you admission. Scoring a 1340 SAT or a 29 ACT or above will nearly guarantee you admission. If you can achieve a high SAT/ACT score, the rest of your application essentially doesn't matter. You still need to meet the rest of the application requirements, and your GPA shouldn't be too far off from the school average of 4.16. But you won't need dazzling extracurriculars and breathtaking letters of recommendation to get in.
