Additional Information
Visa Requirements
Unless a student is completing an internship, there are no visa fees for academic programs under six months in the UK for US-passport holders. All visitors from the USA to the UK must now complete an UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) which costs £16 / $21. This fee covers multiple journeys to the UK for stays of up to six months within a two-year period, or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
Costs
Students are responsible for international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas (if applicable), and personal expenses.
Internship Opportunities
Edinburgh has a lively business sector and is a key financial and tech hub. As the seat of the Scottish Parliament, it offers numerous public sector opportunities and a thriving social enterprise landscape. Internship placements are subject to availability and host employer hiring discretion. Application and payment of CIEE fees does not guarantee specific placement. After being accepted to the program and submitting the required internship documents, students work with CIEE staff on their internship goals and select which positions to interview for.

Edinburgh is consistently ranked as one of the most desirable places to live in the world and is also considered the greenest in the UK.
