Faculty Positions

UNCG offers various faculty positions across its diverse academic departments.

  • School of Nursing: The School of Nursing is seeking faculty members to apply for a full-time tenure/tenure-track position. They are also recruiting for a certified registered nurse anesthetist faculty member in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

  • Department of Social Work and Gerontology Program: The Department of Social Work and Gerontology Program at UNCG invites applications for a full-time 9-month, professional-track (non-tenure) faculty member at the Assistant rank, with an August 1, 2026 start date. The program recognizes the critical role of quality teaching; Professional track faculty members are fully integrated into the department and receive full benefits.

  • Department of Biology: The Department of Biology at UNC Greensboro (UNCG) seeks individuals with a strong record of accomplishment in the area of Cancer Biology for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

  • Department of Kinesiology: We are seeking an Academic Professional Track Assistant/Associate Professor to serve as the Physical Activity Instructional Program Coordinator for the Department of Kinesiology. This is a 9-month appointment with the potential to teach summer classes.

  • School of Music: The School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for an Assistant Professor of String Bass to start August 1, 2026. We seek an artist/teacher committed to inclusive pedagogy and with demonstrated experience engaging students from diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds.

  • SES Department: The person in this position offers needed instructional support to the Deaf Education concentration within the IDEAS program in the SES Department. Instructional support includes teaching four classes for each of the fall and spring semesters (face-to-face and online) and supervising students in clinical placements.

  • Assistant Director, Fitness: The Assistant Director, Fitness is responsible for the strategic planning, development, coordination, and administration of fitness and wellness programs for students, faculty, staff, and the UNC Greensboro community. The Assistant Director is part of a team of collegial and dedicated student affairs professionals who work together to engage all UNCG students in inter, intra, and cross-cultural learning and intercultural competency building.
  • Coordinator for the University Proctoring Lab: The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) seeks a dedicated coordinator for the University Proctoring Lab, an integral component of the Division of Student Success. The Coordinator will manage daily operations of the University Proctoring Lab (UPL), student staff, and relationships with faculty and campus partners.
  • Assistant Director (Communication Lab): The Communication Lab is an integral component of the Division of Student Success. The Assistant Director (with a focus on written communication) will support the Director in enhancing students’ writing skills across disciplines, focusing on one-on-one consultations and active learning strategies.
  • Academic Advisor: The Academic Advisor position is a full-time appointment that will report to the Director of Undergraduate Student Services in the Bryan School of Business and Economics.
  • Recruiting and Academic Advising Specialist: The Recruiting and Academic Advising Specialist is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Online Programs in the Bryan School of Business and Economics.
  • Assistant Director of Study Abroad and Exchange Programs: The Assistant Director of Study Abroad and Exchange Programs will serve as a study abroad advisor to and coordinator for 200+ students. This means working with all levels of administrative units and faculty members. Interaction with students, parents, and administrators is paramount to this position.
  • Enrollment Support Analyst: The Enrollment Support Analyst, reporting to the Associate Registrar for Policies and Operations, plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the University Registrar’s Office (URO) enrollment systems at UNC Greensboro.
  • Coordinator for Residence Life: The Coordinator for Residence Life (CRL) is responsible for developing community for 300 - 600 residential students. The Coordinator for Residence Life is a full-time, twelve-month, live -on, exempt position reporting to an Assistant Director for Residence Life.
  • Employer Relations Specialist: The Employer Relations Specialist is a full-time position that supports the Bryan School of Business and Economics’ mission to connect students with meaningful professional opportunities by cultivating, maintaining, and expanding relationships with employers, alumni, and community partners.

Administrative and Technical Roles

  • Project Manager: This Project Manager position is responsible for comprehensive and simultaneous Project Management of multiple UNCG projects of various sizes.
  • Assessment Director: The Assessment Director leads the University’s administrative and academic assessment initiatives that support its mission and strategic goals. This position oversees the evaluation of student learning outcomes across undergraduate, graduate, and general education programs, as well as the assessment of strategic objectives within administrative units.
  • Planner/Scheduler: In general, the Planner/Scheduler is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the University’s preventive maintenance program. This position performs administrative and technical work in planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities across campus facilities and operations.
  • Foundation Finance Accountant: The Foundation Finance Accountant is responsible for providing accounting, endowment administration, and investment reporting support for the affiliated organizations of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
  • Pre-Award Process Manager: Position independently manages all aspects of the pre-award process for the College of Arts & Sciences. CAS, the largest academic unit, with over 450 faculty, covers a broad array of disciplines across 21 departments and programs, which requires the position to maintain a broad knowledge base of funding agencies.
  • ITS System Design and Management: The primary purpose of this position is to participate in the technical system design, deployment, and management of ITS and customer identity and access solutions, along with maintaining a coordinated register of centrally managed attribute and role-based access controls.
  • Financial and Business Support: This position provides financial and business support to the Department Chair and faculty members of CSD by gathering data, researching information, reviewing/preparing reports and acting as a liaison between the Department Chair and upper-level administrative staff, the university community and the general public.
  • Director: The Director is responsible for all office management including program planning, assessment, budgeting, hiring, and staff development. The Director serves as the College of Arts and Sciences liaison with all other Advising Offices on campus, as well as all Enrollment Management and Student Success Offices.

Facilities and Maintenance

  • Maintenance Technician: The primary purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on the primary campus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
  • Grounds Equipment Mechanic: This position is responsible for providing preventive maintenance and repairs to grounds equipment, such as mowers, skid steers, backhoes, forklifts, two-cycle equipment, and utility carts, both gas and electric.
  • HVAC Technician: The HVAC Technician is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of all HVAC & Refrigeration equipment in a designated area or section of the campus, including the repair, replacement, installation and maintenance of air conditioning equipment ranging from 1875-ton centrifugal chillers to window air conditioning units.
  • Crew Leader: This Crew Leader position is primarily responsible for primarily maintaining the Alumni House. The duties focus on being able to read and understand set-up drawings for events and assisting with audio-visual equipment and set-ups during scheduled events.
  • Fire Alarm Systems Technician: This is a skilled position with responsibility to operate, maintain, repair, and upgrade, as directed, the automated fire alarm systems on campus.
  • General Cleaner: The position is responsible for general and detailed cleaning in academic, administrative, and performance buildings on campus. This position also completes floor care, has good customer service skills, and completes other special projects, such as furniture supply moves within the academic buildings on campus.

Other Positions

  • Videographer/Photographer: The position strategically captures artistic, creative, and skilled videography and photography, producing multimedia storytelling to reflect UNC Greensboro. The position serves as a secondary videographer/editor and secondary photographer with a strong emphasis on video production.
  • Temporary Administrative Support Associate: The Department of Human Resources is seeking qualified individuals for temporary Administrative Support Associate positions that may become available on campus.
  • Early Childhood Education Teachers: Early Childhood Education Teachers in the Child Care Education Program are responsible for curriculum planning in classrooms for young children, maintaining licensing and accreditation standards, and creating a respectful high quality classroom environment.
  • Student Support (ICS/Beyond Academics): This position will be 1:1 (peer to peer) student support for 15 hours per week with 5 hours per week of administrative support and/or planning/scheduling. This position works directly with students (with intellectual disabilities) enrolled in the Integrative Community Studies (ICS)/Beyond Academics Certificate program.
  • Lifeguard: The lifeguard position is responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and participants by monitoring water activities, enforcing safety rules, and providing emergency assistance when necessary. Lifeguards are responsible for educating all patrons of pool policies and procedures to maintain the safety of all people using the pool and or waterfront.
  • Postdoctoral Chemist: The Oberlies Research Group in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a postdoctoral chemist for a suite of projects. All of these require a passion for working with fungi, both in the mycology and chemistry labs. The ideal candidate will have earned a Ph.D.

  • Graduate Assistant: The term Graduate Assistant is the umbrella term that encompasses all types of GA appointments. Graduate Assistants are employed by the University to teach, conduct research, or assist with administrative duties in departments and non-academic units.
