University Bookstore: Your One-Stop Shop

The University Bookstore is the official vendor for all things UMaine, including textbooks, apparel, and other university-related merchandise. Located in the Memorial Union, the bookstore is a central hub for students.

Memorial Union: A Central Gathering Place

Dedicated June 13, 1953, the Memorial Union underwent major renovations in 2001 to its meeting rooms, bookstore, food venues, and lounges. The Memorial Union is a tribute to the University of Maine’s men and women who served in World War II and a memorial to the 181 men who gave their lives in that war. The Memorial Room in the Union is dedicated to their service and to the memory of those who served. To reserve a space in the Memorial Union please complete the form found here. The Information Booth is centrally located on the second floor of the Memorial Union. There are many meeting rooms and tabling locations available to reserve for your needs.

Career Center and Health Professions Office

The Career Center engages and educates students in their career development process, from internships and job listings to resume and interview prep. The Health Professions Office, part of the Career Center, maintains information on admission requirements for professional schools.

Office of Student Records

The Office of Student Records (OSR) serves as stewards of all UMaine student records. Students who need to submit documents in-person, or who wish to pick up official transcripts and/or verification of enrollment, do not need an appointment during our posted business hours.

Raymond H. Fogler Library

The Raymond H. Fogler Library houses nearly 1 million volumes and 4 million periodicals. Offering a quiet study space available for all students, faculty and staff.

Dining Services: Fueling Your Day

UMaine Dining Services is committed to providing fresh, innovative menus featuring local foods, seasonal ingredients, and global cuisine with your favorite comforts from home mixed in. Everything we do is focused on the people we serve daily through our dining locations and catering services. We have two dining halls and seven retail locations across the 660 acre University campus in Orono. Our team is made up of chefs, production managers, and dining employees from all over the world.

Dining Locations

Wells Central Dining facility, a retail spot including Central Pub, Sal’s Pizza, and the eat>NOW at UMaine autonomous store. Central Pub has a pool table and hosts open mic nights every Sunday from 7-10pm, karaoke every Tuesday night from 7-10pm, and bingo every Wednesday night from 8-10pm.

Foster Center for Innovation

The base for UMaine programs and services that support entrepreneurship, business development and commercialization of university research, the center offers academic courses in innovation open to both undergraduate and graduate students and is home to a student business incubator. It also is the birthplace of an innovation curriculum that has been adopted by companies and other universities around the world.

The Ferland Engineering Building offers space for students of multidisciplinary backgrounds on campus. Here you’ll have access to 48 workbenches tailored for work in biomedical, electronics, 3D printing, vehicles, metals, wood and composites.

Identification and Security

The MaineCard serves as the official University of Maine ID, and the University of Maine Police Department ensures campus safety.

The University of Maine Police Department is a full-service police department staffed by state-certified police officers and support personnel 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year.

Collins Center for the Arts (CCA)

The CCA offers live shows, musicals, stand-up comedy, broadcasts and a variety of other performances. Admissions Fees: Generally, tickets are $7.00 for K-12 students, $27.00 for Senior Citizens and $37.00 Full Price tickets for all other attendees. Located adjacent to the Collins Center for the Arts in the Class of 1944 Hall, capacity of 276-seat.

Astronomy Center
