A Legacy of Greatness

Few college football programs can rival the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The program boasts a rich history filled with iconic players and influential figures who have left an indelible mark on the sport. This prestige makes even cheap Nebraska football tickets a hot commodity. The Cornhuskers have a winning pedigree, and last-minute Nebraska football tickets are always in huge demand for a fanbase that’s as loyal as any in college football.

From Bugeaters to National Power: The Early Years

At the dawn of the 20th century, Nebraska transitioned from the "Bugeaters" to the "Cornhuskers," a change that marked the beginning of their ascent to national prominence. Between 1900 and 1940, Nebraska secured at least a share of 21 conference championships across various leagues under the guidance of numerous coaches. During this era, the Cornhuskers achieved five undefeated seasons, setting the stage for future success.

The Devaney and Osborne Dynasties

The program entered another golden age in 1962 with the arrival of Bob Devaney as head coach. Over 11 seasons, Devaney led the Cornhuskers to eight Big Eight Conference titles and consecutive national championships in 1970 and 1971. In 1973, he passed the torch to Tom Osborne, who continued the program's tradition of excellence until his retirement in 1997.

Osborne's tenure was marked by remarkable consistency and dominance. He amassed a record of 255-49-3, winning over a dozen conference titles. Under his leadership, Nebraska never missed a bowl game and consistently ranked among the top-25 teams in the nation. Osborne capped off his illustrious career with three national championships in four years (1994-1997), solidifying the Cornhuskers' status as arguably the best program in the latter half of the 20th century.

Memorial Stadium: Home of the Huskers

Since 1923, the Cornhuskers have played their home games at Memorial Stadium, located on the University of Nebraska campus in Lincoln. The stadium has undergone numerous renovations and expansions, with the field named in honor of legendary coach Tom Osborne.

Ticket Resale and Security

The University of Nebraska prohibits the purchase of tickets with the sole purpose of reselling for personal or commercial gain. Your ticket to a Nebraska Athletics event, regardless of format (e.g., hardcopy or electronic), is a revocable license that grants you admission to an event sponsored by Nebraska Athletics by and on behalf of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska (“University”). The original ticket purchaser is solely responsible for ensuring that their ticket is not duplicated in any way.

By using a ticket to an event at a Nebraska Athletics facility (or any other venue in which Nebraska Athletics “home” events may be played), you and any minor accompanying you to the event for whom you obtain a ticket (collectively referred to as the “ticket holder”, whether one or more), agree to these terms and conditions (the “Agreement”). You hereby represent you are authorized to act on any minor’s behalf in accepting the applicable terms of this Agreement. You agree the University may change the terms of this Agreement at any time and that your use of a ticket after such change is posted will mean that you accept such changes.

The Nebraska Athletic Department has seen an increase in the amount of invalid and fraudulent tickets rejected at the gates on gameday. The barcode is the most valuable piece of information on a ticket. Treat and protect the barcode as you would your bank and credit card information. Buyer beware.
