Embarking on your academic journey at the University of the Pacific (UOP) is an exciting step. This guide provides essential information for navigating the UOP student portal, MyPacific, and other crucial aspects of student life.
Setting Up Your Student Account: Your Gateway to Pacific
MyPacific serves as your primary student portal throughout your time at Pacific, providing access to essential resources such as class registration, campus activities, and bill payment. Setting up your student account unlocks the internal portals and online tools you'll need to start your academic journey.
- Select your campus (Stockton = STK, Sacramento = SAC, San Francisco = SF).
- Enter your PacificNet ID (username), and select "I Agree".
- If you have not already done so, you will be prompted to enroll and set up password recovery questions. Please enter 3 answers that you can use in the future to reset your password.
- Select the "Change Password" option, then "Continue".
- Enter your default password, provided on your admittance letter, in the "old" password field. Enter your desired new password twice to confirm.
- Select "Continue". You must complete this prior to accessing MyPacific.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) with OKTA Verify
Before, during, and once you enroll in MFA, your username or PacificNet ID will remain the same to log into the application.
- Download the OKTA Verify app from the App Store onto your iOS or Android mobile device.
- From your mobile device, open the OKTA Verify app, click "Get Started", click "Next", and then click "Add Account". Choose the "Organization" option and set your mobile device aside until presented with the QR Code on your computer.
- Using a computer, go to technology.pacific.edu. You will be redirected to the OKTA sign-in page, and enrollment will begin.
- Enter your PacificNet ID and password, sign in, and then "Configure Factor". Choose the type of mobile device you will use for enrollment and click "Next".
- You will now be shown the QR code on your computer. On your mobile device, Click "Yes, Ready to Scan" and, if needed, allow access to your camera. Scan the QR code on your computer with your mobile device in the OKTA Verify App. Once your account has been added, you will see a confirmation page on your computer and mobile device.
Congratulations! Enrollment has been completed.
Orientation: A Mandatory Introduction to University Life
Students can access the detailed orientation schedule on Canvas, Pacific’s Learning Management Platform. Orientation is an important and mandatory part of your preparation to attend Pacific. Late arrivals are not acceptable as missing one day could result in you missing important information about your classes and delay your registration. You will be able to view your schedule online on MyPacific. If you have not received your login credentials, we will assist you with setting up your Pacific accounts during orientation.

Health and Safety
COVID-19 Vaccinations
All Pacific students, at all Pacific campuses, are required to have a COVID-19 vaccination. All Pacific non-health professionals and employees are not required to have COVID-19 vaccinations. Enrolled Health Sciences professionals are required to have COVID-19 Vaccine and Booster. Individuals with F-1 student visa status are required to show proof of COVID vaccination in order to enter the US. Vaccinations must align with the US’s approved list of COVID-19 vaccines. For those passengers traveling under one of the above exceptions they must complete and present the Combined Covered Attestation Form to the airline at the time of departure.
International Students
If you are in F-1 status, you are subject to many complex immigration law and regulations that relate to your legal status here. Advisors at International Programs and Services (IPS) are available to assist you and answer your questions about your immigration status, but it is your responsibility to know and abide by the law in order to maintain valid legal status in order to obtain a SEVS I-20. Or filing a change of status to F-1 you agree to have funds available for the duration of your studies. During your orientation, you will attend a session on immigration.
Social Security Number (SSN) for F-1 Students
You may apply for a social security number ONLY if you have been offered a job on-campus or if you have been granted practical training (CPT or OPT) employment authorization (keep in mind that practical training options are generally not available to new students). If you do have a job offer and need an SSN, you must apply for a social security number through your local Social Security Administration (SSA) office. If the SSN is for an on-campus job you must first bring your offer letter to ISSS because an ISSS advisor must sign off on the letter from your hiring department. For the SSA location nearest you, please visit the Office of Social Security and type in your zip code.
On-campus employment refers to any employment that is paid by Pacific with the physical work site located on the campus the F-1 student is authorized to attend or for a company that holds a contract with Pacific to offer services directly to Pacific students on the Pacific campus the F-1 student is authorized to attend. F-1 students can work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. F-1 students who are employed need a Social Security Number (SSN). Once a student receives a job offer, the student should request an Social Security Letter (and attach a copy of the job offer letter) from IPS. Once the student has all necessary documents, the student must go to the Social Security Administration office.

Accelerator Program Requirements
EAP Students
EAP students must pass both UOPI English language courses in EAP Term 1 and EAP Term 2 with 73%. If a student receives less than 73% in a UOPI English language course, they may repeat it once. If students do not pass both English language courses, they may have to repeat both. A second failure of an English language course will result in dismissal from the accelerator program/UOP. Students must earn a cumulative GPA = 2.0 for Pacific courses and for UOPI courses (separately, not a combined GPA) to successfully complete the program and progress to full Pacific student status.
AAP Students
AAP students must pass both UOPI English language courses in AAP Term 1 with minimum 73%. If a student receives less than 73% in a UOPI English language course, they may repeat it once. If you repeat a course, it means you finish the AAP program with fewer Pacific units. A second failure of an English language course will result in dismissal from the accelerator program/UOP. Students must earn a cumulative GPA = 2.0 for Pacific courses and for UOPI courses (separately, not a combined GPA) to successfully complete the program and progress to full Pacific student status.
ID Students
ID students must earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 to stay in good standing with University of the Pacific and continue their program of study.
Campus Life
Parking
Faculty, staff and students parking on campus require a permit. Permits are sold at the beginning of each academic year, semester and month. Hourly and daily permits are also available through the Passport Parking app. There’s no shortage of ways to get involved, connect and have fun at Pacific.
Location Advantages
Welcome to the vibrant opportunities our location in Stockton, California, will offer your child. With proximity to the Bay Area, Sacramento and majestic mountain adventures, we are uniquely positioned at the crossroad of education and recreation. This provides an abundance of networking opportunities and thrilling escapades for your student, all just a stone's throw away. Students, especially first-year and first-generation, might need extra assistance to reach their full potential in college.
