- USD Alumni Mentoring Program: The USD Alumni Mentoring Program connects current students (mentees) with USD alumni (mentors) through an easy-to-use platform called Qooper. The Alumni Association offers avenues for professional development and career advancement.
- Become a Mentor: USD alumni get involved for many reasons, and often stay involved because the experience is so rewarding. Build a lasting connection. You'll be matched one-on-one with a student based on shared interests, experience and goals. Together, you'll work over 10-15 weeks (or longer, if you choose) to explore career paths, set goals and grow together. USD provides agendas, resources and support along the way.
- Commitment: Plan for a 10-15 week engagement with one student. You set the pace together-and you're welcome to mentor additional students in the future.
- Resources and Support: Access structured agendas and talking points for up to six meetings. Qooper includes guides like Mentorship 101, Mentor Feedback Best Practices and more. Support students when they need quick, targeted advice. In this less formal option, students reach out to alumni with questions related to specific industries, career moves or life experiences. Some interactions may last 10 minutes or less- but your impact can last a lifetime.

Through strategic partnerships with colleges, universities and technical schools, VPF provides matched scholarships to dependents of fallen or 100% disabled verterans. Many Teams. One Mission.
- VPF Scholarships: With the help of VPF scholarships and donor matching funds, qualifying students receive personalized support through financial assistance for tuition, fees, supplies, meal plans, emergency aid and other essential needs. To instill a sense of lifelong empowerment and success, the University of South Dakota provides a $1,000 scholarship to each recipient-on top of any other scholarships or veteran-related benefits they may receive. - Graduation Ceremony Participation: Yes, online graduating students are invited to participate in graduation. USD only holds commencement ceremonies once per year in May for all students graduating in that academic year.

- Zoom Pro Access: Alumni do not retain access to Zoom Pro. Upon graduation, your Zoom account will automatically revert to a free account which includes up to 40 minutes per meeting.
