To be considered for merit-based scholarships from the Office of Admissions, students must have submitted their admissions application by the listed due date.

Application Submission

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must submit a complete admissions application by January 15. All required documents are needed for an application to be considered complete. Applicants can verify that their application is complete by logging into the Applicant Portal and viewing their checklist.

GPA Requirements

The GPA used for scholarship consideration is the recalculated GPA that USF uses for scholarship purposes. Transcripts and test scores received within the awarding timeline will be used for consideration.

Notification Process

Students will be notified if they receive a scholarship via a separate letter that is sent after they are admitted. Scholarship information will also be available in the Student Self-Service account. Notification takes place between October and February.

Residency and Scholarship Eligibility

Certain scholarships are awarded based on residency. To be eligible for these scholarships, students must prove Florida residency by submitting a Residency Affidavit and supporting documentation to the semester for which in-state status is sought. Receiving a qualifying scholarship is dependent upon receipt of the scholarship and full time enrollment. Students may receive in-state tuition, but they may still be classified as a non-Florida resident.

Maintaining Your Scholarship

To continue receiving a scholarship, students must enroll in a minimum number of credit hours each term and maintain a 3.0 USF GPA.

Enrollment Requirements

Students beginning in the spring term need to complete 15 USF credit hours during the remainder of the academic year (spring/summer). Enrollment at another school will not count for renewal purposes.

Students must maintain a 3.0 USF GPA to continue receiving their scholarship.
