Historical Overview and Affiliations
Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS), the parent organization of VVCE, was established in 1949 by visionaries Late Sahukar Channaiah and Late K. Puttaswamy (Former Minister of Karnataka). VVS was founded with the mission to impart quality education to all sections of society. Today, VVS encompasses ten educational institutions, ranging from nursery schools to the engineering college. The Sangha is currently under the guidance of Sri Gundappa Gowda, President, Sri Shivalingappa B, Vice President, Sri P. Vishwanath, Secretary, and Sri S N Lakshminarayana, Treasurer.
VVCE is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and holds autonomous status from the academic year 2020-21. The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. VVCE operates through its Board of Governors, constituted as per AICTE guidelines.
Leadership and Accreditations
The college is led by Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, who serves as the Principal and brings extensive experience from both industry and education sectors in India and abroad. VVCE has received several important accreditations, including an ‘A’ Grade from the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) and accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. Furthermore, the institute has been awarded a Silver rating by QS - I Guage. Six programs, IS&E, E&EE, CS&E, E&CE, ME and CV of VVCE have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation for three years i.e. academic years 2020-2021 to 2022-2023 of date up to 30 June 2023. The college is also accredited with 'A' Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for five Years from the year 2018.

The campus of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysore, Karnataka, is designed to provide a conducive and enriching learning environment. VVCE is located at P.B. No.206, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Rd, III Stage, Gokulam, Mysuru, Karnataka. It is easily accessible, being approximately 4 km from Mysore (Mysuru) Railway Station and 16 km from Mysore (Mysuru) Airport, Kozhikode-Mysore-Kollegal Highway, Mysuru, Karnataka. The campus is designed with the main preference to the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering departments, both of which are close to the main gate of the building. It has a basketball court, Indoor sports complex and large ground which acts as a stadium for cricket, football and concerts.
VVCE boasts excellent infrastructure, including well-equipped classrooms fitted with LCD projectors and CCTV surveillance. Lecture capture is provided in all classrooms to enhance faculty improvement and facilitate better understanding for students through shared lecture videos. The college has also established an incubation facility to support budding engineers.
