Exploring Waldorf Education in Los Angeles: A Holistic Approach to Learning

Waldorf education is a rapidly expanding independent school movement globally, with over 1,000 schools spanning 60 countries. This educational philosophy emphasizes imagination, equipping teachers to foster creative, critical, and empathetic thinking in their students. In Los Angeles, several institutions embrace Waldorf principles, offering a unique and enriching educational experience.

The Essence of Waldorf Education

At its core, Waldorf education, inspired by Rudolf Steiner, is viewed as both an art form and a catalyst for community building and cultural events. It places the dignity of life and the human being at the heart of its work. This approach seeks to cultivate well-rounded individuals with a passion for learning and a strong sense of self.

Pasadena Waldorf School: Integrating Arts and Academics

Pasadena Waldorf School (PWS) enriches learning by integrating the arts into all academic disciplines. This results in an academically vigorous, experiential education that has inspired students to reach their full potential as life-long learners for over a century. PWS aims to graduate students who will positively shape our culture, rather than merely reflecting it. Their graduates will have the vision, desire, and skill to live meaningful lives, balance technology and humanity, and create a sustainable future.

Experiencing PWS: Tours and Community

The best way to understand PWS is to see it firsthand. Tours are available, offering a casual and informative experience with opportunities to ask questions of current parents, alumni, and staff. PWS fosters a community where students can discover a passion for learning, be curious about the world around them, and find their purpose in it.

Parents have lauded Highland Hall for its positive and transformative impact on their children. A Welcoming Environment for New Students

One family joined Highland Hall when their daughter entered 8th grade. It was such a positive, transformative experience for her.
