Specific requirements are four units in English, three units in mathematics, one unit in natural science (excluding general science) and one unit in history.

Johnson Scholarship: Merit-Based Recognition
The Johnson Scholarship is W&L’s premier merit-based scholarship, providing full tuition, housing, and meals to up to 10% of each incoming class. Scholarship winners also receive an additional $10,000 to support summer experiences or study abroad. Application for the Johnson Scholarship is open to all students and does require a supplemental essay.
Transfer Students: Joining the W&L Community

Tuition and Fees
The Comprehensive Tuition Fee for all undergraduates is $70,100 a year, payable $35,050 in mid-August before the beginning of the 13-week fall term in September, and in mid-December before the beginning of the winter term in January. A Student Activities Fee of $335 is required of each student, payable $167.50 each 13-week term. A Traveller Fee of $360 is required of each student, payable $180 each 13-week term. A Technology Fee of $320 is required of each student, payable $160 each 13-week term. In addition, a $250 Health Services Fee is also required of each student, payable $125 each 13-week term.
Housing and Meal Plans
All first-year students are required to live in one of the two first-year residence halls, Gaines or Graham-Lees. In addition, all sophomores and juniors must live in University housing. The rates for rooms in the first-year residence facilities are $10,125 for the academic year. First-year students are required to take a full board plan for the academic year.
