Admissions Information

Waterford School is delighted with interest to join the community of learners. Candidates to Waterford will demonstrate an interest in learning and a readiness to develop their talents. Applications for the 26-27 school year are now open and are being accepted on a rolling basis, as spaces become available. The Admissions Committee carefully evaluates a student’s strengths as they relate to success at Waterford.

Admissions Process

All applicants and their parents/guardians should visit the school. During this visit, the applicant will tour the campus and visit classes. The family will also have the opportunity to visit classes in session and meet faculty and students. All applicants are evaluated to assess readiness and scholastic achievement. Applicants for PreK and Kindergarten will be evaluated by the appropriate grade-level teachers. Applicants for Classes I-VII will be evaluated in reading and math by specialists from the school’s learning center. Students applying for Classes VI-XII will complete Waterford’s in-house assessment. To gauge a student’s ability and assess achievement admissions testing will be administered by the school. During this visit, the appropriate grade-level teacher will evaluate and observe your child.

Fees and Requirements

There is a $75 application fee to apply to Waterford School. Waterford partners with Tommy Hilfiger Global School Wear for uniforms. Bus services are available from Salt Lake, Olympus Cove, Utah County, Riverton/South Jordan, and Park City. Routes are subject to change depending on ridership. The birthday cutoff date for Pre-K is September 1st, when a child can be 3 years old to join.

Waterford School District (WSD) Parent Communication Portal

The Waterford School District (WSD) Parent Communication Portal is designed to keep families informed and involved in their child’s education. The WSD Parent Communication Portal is a “one stop” resource no matter how many children a family has in our school district or which schools they attend. Parents can easily access the WSD Parent Communication Portal from any location with an internet connection.

MISTAR

MISTAR offers parents and students access to important information about what is going on at school. Through the MISTAR portals, parents and students will benefit from having real-time access to announcements, daily attendance, progress reports, grades, graduation requirements, transcripts and more. Parents also have the ability to link all of their children under one account and set up notifications from MISTAR.

Mass Messaging Information

Messages XR Enterprise allows Waterford School District (WSD) to communicate with parents about emergency situations, attendance, school events, and important issues impacting your child. Families with students enrolled in WSD are automatically registered for this communication service.

Accessing the Student Portal

Students can log in to the Waterford app using a username and password, a unique QR code, or via Clever. Both login options require that you have already set up an account for each student and generated their password and/or QR codes. Information on creating a student account.

Logging in with a Username and Password

To log your student in using their username and password:

  1. Tap on the Waterford app on your device.
  2. Enter the username and password set by the school for your student.
  3. Tap Sign In to log your student into their account.
    • Type my.waterford.org into your search bar.
    • Click Sign In.
    • Enter the Org Code and username set by the school for your student and click Submit. The Org Code and username can be obtained from the teacher.
    • Enter the password set by the school for your student and click Submit. The password can be obtained from the teacher.

Logging in with a QR Code

To log your student in using their QR Code:

  1. Tap on the Waterford app on your device.
  2. Tap on the Scan button. A pop-up window will appear.
  3. Tap Allow to give my.waterford.org permission to open your device’s camera.
  4. Hold the QR code up to your device’s camera to begin scanning.

When the device recognizes the QR code, your student will be redirected to their Waterford homepage. Before your students can log in using their unique QR codes, you will need to enable camera permissions for the app. If you block or disable these permissions, the app may crash during startup.

  • Visit my.waterford.org.
  • Select the Scan QR Code button. A pop-up window will appear.
  • Choose Allow to give my.waterford.org permission to open your device’s camera.
  • Hold the QR code up to your device’s camera to begin scanning.

Logging in with Clever

To log students in through Clever:

  1. Tap on the Waterford app on your device.
  2. Tap Log in With Clever. You will be redirected to the Clever login page.
  3. Search for your school name, then log in to Clever using your student’s username and password.

Your student will then be redirected to their Waterford homepage. If you log in via Clever on a tablet, your student will log out of Waterford Early Learning normally after their session is over.

Managing Student Information

The Students tab allows you to manage information for your classrooms and individual students. You can view or update information for your Waterford students, assign tags to students in Waterford Early Learning, and log your students into Waterford Early Learning from a web browser.

Learning Paths and Activities

On your student’s Waterford homepage, they will see a group of tiles for each course they are assigned during the school year. When your student has finished their Waterford course session for the day, they will be redirected to a screen with a stop sign image, indicating that they have completed their session. Waterford Early Learning includes language support for Spanish speakers. This allows the program to repeat directions in Spanish and English for your student.
