Applicants must complete a mathematics course through the Algebra II level, at least one laboratory science course (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), and four years of English. It is not required that you take classes in your interest on the high school level.

First-year students apply through the Common Application and transfer students apply through the Wentworth Application. An official high school transcript and two letters of recommendation. An essay is required with all applications. Wentworth does not require the ACT/SAT for admission. However, we will still accept SAT or ACT scores if the applicant chooses to submit them.

All students must declare a major at the time of application. The majors that receive the most applications are Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, and Biomedical Engineering. Other majors are also popular. First Year students can apply to Wentworth using the Common Application.

Cooperative Education (Co-op) Program

Wentworth offers a comprehensive co-op program that is fully integrated into the curriculum. Students do not pay tuition for their co-op semesters, unless taking other optional coursework during that semester. All students are required to complete at least 2 semesters of professional, paid work experience before graduation. Co-ops are full-time paid positions in a student’s major. The student works for the employer during the semester and does not take any classes or pay tuition. Internships can be paid or unpaid.

Wentworth students do co-op during the second semester of their junior year and the first semester of their senior year. They take no classes, but they must take courses during the summer in between. Those who feel ready to tackle a co-op earlier in their education have the option to do so during the summer after their sophomore year.
