Western Cape College of Nursing: A Comprehensive Guide to Courses and Admissions
The Western Cape College of Nursing offers various pathways for aspiring nurses to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in healthcare. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the courses offered, the admission process, and the resources available to students.
Accessing Learning Resources
The college utilizes iLearn, a Moodle-based student learning platform, to provide students with easy access to course materials, quizzes, assignments, and important announcements. This centralized platform ensures that students can efficiently manage their studies and stay informed about course-related updates.
For research purposes, students have access to EBSCOhost, a library database containing thousands of articles, journals, and research papers. This valuable resource supports students in completing assignments and conducting in-depth studies.
Bettercare Books: A Trusted Resource
Bettercare Books, formerly known as the Perinatal Education Programme (PEP), are used by healthcare professionals in South Africa and other countries for over 30 years. The content is constantly improved to ensure that the latest information on child, perinatal, and HIV care is provided. This resource is a valuable and trusted tool in a nurse's toolkit.

The Western Cape College of Nursing offers an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program designed to equip students with the foundational knowledge and skills required for entry-level nursing practice.
