Choosing the right school for your child is a significant decision. Westminster Christian School (WCS) in Palmetto Bay, Florida, stands as a highly regarded, independent, college-preparatory Christian school. Founded in 1961, WCS serves students from preschool through grade 12. It aims to empower learners, prepare hearts, and inspire young people to serve faithfully as ambassadors for Jesus Christ. Westminster Christian School: An Overview
Located on a 31-acre campus near the Charles Deering Estate, Westminster Christian School is accredited by Cognia, Florida Council of Independent Schools, and Christian Schools of Florida. WCS operates as a covenant school, partnering with families where at least one parent is Christian and actively involved in a local Christian church. The school population draws families from more than 150 different churches in the area.
From a structural standpoint, the school is governed by a 13-member board of directors, who are elected by the parents of enrolled students. The board is responsible for hiring a superintendent.
Westminster Christian School opened on September 6, 1961 with four teachers and twelve students on the grounds of Shenandoah Presbyterian Church. Two years later, Westminster moved to its new and current location with an enrollment of 169 students and 14 full-time and five part-time teachers.

Private school tuition is a significant commitment that affects every family’s budget and lifestyle. For specific and up-to-date tuition information, it is best to consult the Westminster Christian School's official website or contact their Admissions Office directly.
Navigating Financial Aid Options
Recognizing the financial commitment involved in private education, Westminster Christian School offers need-based financial aid to make education more accessible. The school partners with Clarity, a financial aid third-party processor, to determine eligibility for assistance for both current and prospective families. Clarity offers a streamlined and user-friendly financial aid application process that can take as little as thirty minutes to complete. You will need to submit a Clarity application each year in order to qualify for financial aid. All financial assistance awards must be applied for annually.
Financial aid at Westminster is need-based. Clarity will conduct an analysis of income versus expenses for each family that applies. The cost of tuition, up to the amount awarded, is covered under financial aid. Financial information is required for both biological parents. The existence of a legal determination excusing one parent from financial contributions towards a child’s education will not be considered. We believe that it is the obligation of both parents to contribute to a child’s educational expenses.
Financial aid awards are evaluated every year. Families must re-apply each year. Financial aid awards will be included in the re-enrollment contracts for current families. All new families will be notified when financial documentation has been submitted to Clarity and the student has completed the admission process.
It's important to note that financial assistance is not available for preschool, extended day services, GRASP, technology fees, or any other special programs.
