My experience with Brittain Academy was phenomenal. The staff were very kind and patient with me being late in getting my high school diploma. Walking the stage at an older age was a bit embarrassing, but they made me feel very comfortable. I love my school!! So I graduated from this school and I am completely satisfied with everything I learned and the education I got. I am now a CNA, I got to walk the stage at graduation and I loveddd the people running it! My daughter wasn't getting the help she needed at her high school. Enrolled her in the High school, she graduated Summer of 2024 and enrolled at Guilford Tech the next day.

Factors Influencing College Acceptance

Several factors influence whether a college will accept a diploma from a particular high school. These include:

  • Accreditation: Accreditation is a process by which an educational institution is evaluated by an external body to ensure it meets certain quality standards. Colleges often prefer or require applicants to have graduated from an accredited high school.
  • Curriculum Rigor: Colleges assess the difficulty and breadth of the courses a student has taken. A challenging curriculum, including honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, can increase a student's chances of acceptance.
  • GPA and Standardized Test Scores: A student's GPA and scores on standardized tests like the SAT or ACT are significant factors in college admissions.
  • College Admission Policies: Each college has its own specific admission policies, including requirements for high school diplomas.
