Choosing Fuecoco as Your Starter
Fuecoco is the Fire-type starter Pokemon given to the trainer by Director Clavell at the beginning of the game. After selecting your starter Pokemon, you will not be able to obtain the other two starters without the help of a trade.
Type Advantages
Fuecoco also gives you type advantage over Pokemon that have fewer weaknesses such as Steel. It also resists Fairy-type unlike the other starter types.
Auto Battles
Auto Battling with the new 'Let's Go' feature is great way to battle wild Pokemon will exploring the overworld. Take note however, that Fuecoco will not evolve at level 16 if it gains the level through Auto Battles. Fuecoco should automatically evolve into Crocalor once it reaches Lv. 16, and Crocalor will then evolve into Skeledirge at Lv.

Tera Types and Strategies
Terastallizing is a key mechanic in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, allowing Pokémon to change their type and gain significant advantages in battle. Here are some strategies for utilizing Tera Types with Fuecoco:
- Tera+STAB Attacker: Pokemon who stack their Tera Type damage boost with STAB to get a 2x damage boost for one type.
- Tera Boost Coverage: Pokemon who use a Tera Type different from their main types to get a 1.5x boost in a new typing for greater coverage.
- Weakness Protection: Pokemon who use a Tera Type to reduce or remove one of their critical weaknesses.
Nature
Fuecoco is a special attacker, so it is recommended to use a Fuecoco with the Modest nature which boosts its Special Attack stat. Following these steps, you will be able to quickly search for the nature you want for Fuecoco.
Partner Pokémon
Shinx is great against Water-type Pokemon which Fuecoco is weak against. After evolving into Gyarados, this Pokemon will become indispensable for taking out Rock-type Pokemon that Fuecoco is weak to. Paldean Wooper evolves at level 20, is very hard to take out, and can learn support moves such as Yawn, making it very useful for taking down Gym Leaders.
