Tarisland Fishing Guide: A Comprehensive Overview
Tarisland, a free-to-play MMORPG with a vast open world, offers players a plethora of activities beyond combat and questing. Among these is fishing, a relaxing and rewarding pastime that allows players to earn gold, obtain valuable buffs, and even participate in special events. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of fishing in Tarisland, covering everything from how to get started to advanced tips and strategies.
Introduction to Professions in Tarisland
Choosing a profession is one of the biggest initial tasks in Tarisland. Mastering professions will allow you to craft unique pieces of armor, enhance your character with specific gems, ride mounts, and even develop a defibrillator to revive any player. All professions are considered equal in Tarisland, each with its own pros and cons. They are also inter-connected, with some appearing weak but still providing resources through the Auction. For beginner players, starting with professions like Tailor, Alchemist, or Forge is a great way to create useful items and improve your character.
Why Fish? The Benefits of Angling in Tarisland
Fishing in Tarisland is highly regarded as one of the best methods for earning gold, especially since it does not require Vigor to perform. This allows you to spend all your available time casting your line in hopes of catching big rewards. Beyond the economic benefits, fishing offers a relaxing break from the more intense combat and quest activities, fitting seamlessly into any distinct playstyle. The fish you catch can be consumed to regain HP and provide certain buffs, such as reduced cooldowns or instant Vigor recovery. Additionally, fishing plays a role in special events like the Food Festival, where specific fish are needed.
Getting Started: The Basics of Fishing
Fishing isn't something you can do from the beginning. To start fishing in Tarisland, you must first progress through the storyline (missions) until you are asked to speak with an NPC called Black Gun. This NPC is a fisherman and you will be prompted to interact with him at the Silverlit Trading Post. Upon your initial conversation with Black Gun, he will give you a basic fishing rod to get started.
Step-by-Step Guide to Fishing
- Obtain a Fishing Rod: Complete the storyline until you meet Black Gun in Silverlit, who will provide you with a Beginner Fishing Rod.
- Equip the Fishing Rod: Equip the Beginner Fishing Rod in the main slot, which is located at the middle bottom of the screen. Alternatively, place the fishing rod in your hotbar by selecting it from your inventory.
- Find a Water Body: Go to any waterbody where fishing is permitted.
- Cast Your Line: Click on the action of your rod, and then select the place where you want to cast the float with the bait. Click on the fishing rod icon in your hotbar.
- Wait for a Bite: Wait until a fish starts pulling the hook.
- Reel it In: When the green bar appears at the top of the screen, you must quickly press the Reel action button to succeed in catching something. Start rapidly clicking the pull button at the bottom until the bar on the screen is filled.
The Fishing Minigame
Tarisland has a fishing minigame, which is useful for geting food buff items, alongside participating special items for the Food Festival event. When you start catching fish, you need to balance your line positon on the bar without connecting with the red fish bar. When the red fish bar disappears, you need to let your line get to the end to successfully catch a fish in Tarisland. However, you do not want to let your green bar hit the red bar within the fish icon. The minigame for fishing is all about timing. Don’t press the lure too much to start reeling teh fish in while it has a red bar. The red bar will also move back and forward slightly, so again, keep your distance.

Avoiding Sharks
However, if you want to learn how to avoid sharks, the earlier mini-game will be slightly different from the standard one of catching a regular fish. The actual start of fishing is the same, however, the moment you see a shark, you have to press the Reel action so that the green bar does not disappear completely, but at the same time does not approach the red point, which represents the shark. Keep your marker to the left of the screenAfter a few seconds of avoiding the shark, it will get tired, making the red point disappear from the bar.
Bait and Where to Find It
There are a few ways to get fish bait in Tarisland. You can get some via the rewards screen in game, such as Mithril bait from the TARISLAND promo code. As for the basic fish bat, you cna get them in the hot items store, and purchase them for silver. Click the house icon next to the minute map when you’re in game, and look at the Hot Items menu.
Maximizing Your Fishing Profits
For the best tips and strategies, consider watching new videos or visiting the auction house to learn what fish are most valuable or to sell your haul for the highest profit.
Other Professions to Consider
- Alchemy: Alchemy is an important profession that enables you to create strong elixirs, potions, and scrolls. All three sorts of items are in high demand by all gamers. Alchemy serves as the best PvE profession because it doesn’t require elixirs or flasks.
- Tailoring: Tailoring is a subtle profession that allows you to mangle clothes and other items. Players choosing this profession can craft powerful armor sets (gloves, belts, coats, and kneepads) without even raiding a dungeon or participating in the world boss event. This profession is extremely helpful for all types of classes since you will require powerful armor sets for each class. Bags are some of the most useful in-demand items in Tarisland.
- Jewelry Making: Master jewelers are well-versed in the intricacies of gemstones. If you choose Jewelry Making as your job, you will be able to create equipment pieces for rings, belts, necklaces, and accessories.
- Artisan: Skilled artisans may turn dreams into reality and create breath-taking masterpieces. Their paintings always present limitless options for travelers. By selecting Artisan as your profession, you will be able to create goods such as Toys, Mounts, and Emblem Chests, the latter of which can be used in the new character development system.
- Forge: The Forge is one of the best professions, as you get to craft unique items that can boost your power. Apart from armor (Tailors), Forgemasters can craft everything else. Be it helmets, chests, shoulders, or armbands. The forgemasters also have access to building 2 distinct types of tool kits - one for gathering ores and other resources and one more for crafting with the help of these resources. Out of all other professions, the Forge has the best tools to craft items. Even in the Epic category, players can increase their chances of getting higher-grade items by using appropriate amounts of materials.
