2019 Season: SEC Freshman of the Year
In 2019, Nix was named the starting quarterback for Auburn, becoming the first true freshman to start a season opener since 1946. He led the team to a 9-4 record, including a dramatic victory over the Oregon Ducks where he threw the game-winning touchdown pass with only nine seconds left on the clock. Another significant win came against #5 Alabama in the Iron Bowl. Nix's impressive freshman season earned him SEC Freshman of the Year honors.
