Unlock Your Potential: Internship and Career Opportunities at Youth Villages
Youth Villages offers a multitude of opportunities for students and recent graduates seeking to make a difference in the lives of children and families. From internships to career development programs, Youth Villages provides a platform to gain practical experience, develop professional skills, and contribute to a meaningful cause.
Internship Opportunities
Youth Villages provides unpaid, for-credit internships during the fall and spring semesters at a variety of locations. These internships offer invaluable hands-on experience in the field of social services. For those seeking paid opportunities, Youth Villages also offers paid summer internships in Memphis, TN, and Nashville, TN. These internships typically begin in late May and conclude in early August.
Eligibility for Internships
If you are nearing completion of your bachelor’s or master’s degree in a social services discipline, you can begin the application process before you even graduate. This allows you to seamlessly transition from academia to a professional setting.
The YV360 Career Development Program
For those planning to complete their master’s degree, Youth Villages offers the YV360 Career Development Program. This unique program is designed to help recent graduates maximize their potential as clinicians and leaders in the social services field. The program selects a cohort of recent graduates each year, providing them with unparalleled opportunities for growth and development.
Educational Requirements
While educational requirements may vary across the organization, most positions working directly with children and families require at least a Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology. Other related social services degrees may be considered, in which case you may be asked to submit a copy of your unofficial transcripts for review. If your educational background differs, Youth Villages offers support positions that may be of interest.

The Application Process
The Recruiting Department reviews applications within 48 business hours. You may be asked to complete a full employment application and a 30-minute phone prescreen. If you are chosen to move forward, the hiring manager or a member of their team will contact you to begin the interview process.
Training and Supervision
All new hires attend Youth Villages’ week-long orientation class and on-the-job training. In addition to this initial training, new hires also shadow experienced staff before working in any of the programs. Youth Villages provides licensure supervision hours for eligible employees, with supervision provided by qualified, licensed providers.
Additional Considerations
Most community-based positions will require rotating on-call duties. Positions that are posted online usually need to be filled as soon as possible.
