This article delves into the specifics of the AICE Diploma program in Florida, outlining its structure, requirements, and benefits.

AICE Diploma: A Pathway to College Credit

Both Cambridge AS and A Levels are recognized as college-level courses. Students who achieve a Cambridge grade of E or higher in these examinations may be granted college credit or advanced standing. This recognition extends to universities throughout the United States, including all public universities and colleges within Florida.

Structuring Your AICE Curriculum

The Cambridge AICE Diploma necessitates selecting subjects from four distinct curriculum areas:

  • Mathematics and Science
  • Languages
  • Arts and Humanities
  • Interdisciplinary Skills & Research Subjects

The program offers a diverse range of subjects at the International Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level, with some subjects also available at the Advanced (A) Level. For the Cambridge AICE Diploma award framework, An AS Level counts as a full (single) credit course.

Earning the AICE Diploma: Credit Requirements

To be eligible for an AICE Diploma, candidates must accumulate the equivalent of seven credits. This is achieved by successfully passing examinations at either the AS Level or A Level. A key requirement is that at least one course must be chosen from each of the curriculum areas.

Ideally, candidates will begin their program in their freshman year so that they have earned their diploma by the end of their junior year.
