Allied Van Lines Military Scholarship: A Comprehensive Guide

Allied Van Lines recognizes the importance of education and offers the Allied.com Military Scholarship Competition to support current and former active duty military members (or their dependents) pursuing higher education. Allied Van Lines Military Scholarship Competition

Allied Van Lines believes that educational advancement is paramount in improving the lives of individuals. Due to largely to this belief, we are excited to kick start the opportunity of offering our first ever Military Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Operational Management Scholarship, available to all those current or former active duty military and their dependents who qualify. The scholarship is designed for students whose area of study focuses on logistics and moving-related fields.

Eligibility Criteria

The Allied.com Military Scholarship Competition is open to current or former active duty military members and their dependents who meet the following criteria:

Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling at accredited college or university within the United States for completion of undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field.
Applicants must be one of the following:
- An honorably discharged veteran or current member of the active military (including National Guard and Reserves).
- A spouse of a current military service member or honorably discharged veteran.
- A child (under age 21 or full-time student under age 23) of a current military service member or honorably discharged veteran.
Applicants must submit a copy of their DD214 (member 4) or a signed letter from Command certifying active duty status.
Applicants must be a Candidate for a Degree.
Eligible educational institution.
Qualified education expenses.
Course-related expenses, such as fees, books, supplies, and equipment that are required for the courses at the eligible educational institution. These items must be required of all students in your course of instruction.

Scholarship Details

Upon the contest’s close date, two lucky winners will be selected to be the recipients of an award totaling $1,000 each. The scholarship is not renewable.

Application Process

All Applications that are incomplete will be disqualified.

Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program

The Army Women’s Foundation recognizes the importance of education and the role it plays in personal, professional and economic fulfillment. The Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program provides grants to women soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Legacy Scholarship Program offers financial support in four areas: Certificate programs, Community College coursework, Undergraduate Degrees and Graduate Degrees. Scholarships are awarded only for coursework from accredited institutions. Annually, two recipients will be awarded $1,000 towards their education.

The American Legion Scholarships

The American Legion offers a number of scholarships and other resources to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. Annually awards scholarships to veterans/active military, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. A son, daughter, or grandchild of a deceased veteran is also eligible. Spouses, dependent children and grandchildren of blinded veterans are eligible for the annual Kathern F. Gruber Scholarships and Thomas H. Miller Scholarship to assist them with their higher education tuition. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit through an application process that is evaluated by a committee. Gruber and Miller scholarships are for one year only but recipients can re-apply and receive the award up to four times. The blinded veteran family member is not required to be a BVA member for the spouse or child to receive a scholarship. The spouse and children of members of the Navy who had the title of Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty Officer are eligible for this scholarship. The organization offers 60 scholarships of $2,000 for tuition and fees.

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation provides college scholarships to the children of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who died in combat or in training. Scholarships awarded based on need and intended to supplement other public and private sources of funding to cover tuition, room and board, or books at any accredited college or university.

Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) Scholarships

As a member institution of the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME), students are eligible for generous scholarships to assist with their educational endeavors.

Daughters of the Cincinnati Scholarship

Daughters of the Cincinnati Scholarship applicants must be high school senior and daughter of a career officer commissioned in the regular Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Marine Corp (active, retired, or deceased).

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary supports the National Education Loan Fund which provides interest-free loans to life members of the DAV Auxiliary who are furthering their education at a college, university, or vocational school. The Fund has awarded scholarships to sons and daughters of American heroes in the last several years. The Fund honors the bravery and dedication exhibited by Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country by providing educational scholarships to their children. National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES) Scholarships

The National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES) is honored to offer five cash scholarships annually to celebrate academic achievements of military students in the Armed Forces Voluntary Education programs. This scholarship is available to those who have been on duty for 3 or more years.

Scholarships for Counseling Careers

Military members or veterans who want to pursue a career in counseling can take advantage of this scholarship. It offers up to $3,000 in tuition assistance to attend graduate school in an accredited institution.
