The curriculum is structured to ensure students acquire a solid foundation in business principles while exploring their individual interests. In their first years, students take six foundational classes that serve as a springboard for future learning. Experiential and collaborative courses are a hallmark of the undergraduate business degree curriculum. Required for every Babson student, these dynamic core courses will empower you to create lasting value for yourself, your community, and the world. Courses are integrated and complementary, building across years and exposing students to multiple perspectives on business and the world. Second- or third-year coursework focuses on the science behind how people and nature work together and why that matters. Required in the third or fourth year, these experiential learning courses include applied projects at companies and nonprofits.

Beyond the required curriculum, students have the flexibility to choose electives that align with their interests and aspirations. They can further specialize their knowledge by selecting one of the 24 undergraduate business concentrations. Throughout their learning journey, as you build on each course, each experience, and each opportunity to grow, you also will be required to take classes that complement, balance, and round out your course load. Babson’s undergraduate business curriculum gives students the skills they need to be successful business and entrepreneurial leaders, while also providing them with the opportunity to follow their passions and interests in a range of subjects, such as Anthropology of Law, Global Environmental Activism, The History and Ethics of Capitalism, Affordable Design and Entrepreneurship, Photography, and many others.

Babson emphasizes experiential learning, recognizing that practical experience reinforces classroom lessons. Students are encouraged to complement their coursework with internships, global opportunities, and real-world projects. Babson also offers cross-registration for classes at F.W. Olin College of Engineering, Wellesley College, Brandeis University, and Regis College. Required Application Materials

Application: Submit the Common Application.
Application Fee: A $75 fee is submitted online when you submit your Common Application. If the application fee presents a financial burden, students may apply for a fee waiver by contacting Undergraduate Admissions.
Standardized Testing: Babson College is Test Optional for first-year and transfer applicants. If you choose to provide the SAT or ACT, you may provide self-reported test scores. Once admitted, students who provided testing will need to submit their official test scores. Babson’s reporting code is 3075.
Recommendation Letters: One letter from a counselor and one letter from a teacher are required.
Essays:

- Babson College Essay Prompts: You are invited to respond to the writing supplement with either a traditional essay (500 words maximum) OR a one-minute video. The academic environment at Babson is a rigorous one, and we look for students who have best prepared themselves for success at the college level.

While Babson admissions officers keep the GPA data of admitted students closed to public eyes, refusing to publish either the average GPA or class rank information on incoming students in the Common Data Set, it’s safe to assume that the plurality of those who secure a spot at Babson boast GPAs in excess of 3.7, while also including extracurricular engagement oriented around singular hooks and stellar letters of recommendation in their applications.

Factors such as the high school attended, the rigor of the student’s coursework, their extracurriculars, essays, letters of recommendation, and more all play a significant role in the admissions process. While it’s certainly possible to get into Babson with a low GPA, it’s improbable. However, some students do indeed slip through the cracks, although they often fulfill other institutional needs (e.g., recruited athletes, development cases).

Half the applicants admitted to Babson College who submitted test scores have an SAT score between 1390 and 1530. The 25th percentile SAT score is 1410, and the 75th percentile SAT score is 1500. The average ACT score at Babson College is 32. The 25th percentile ACT score is 31, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 34.

Additional Considerations

Early Decision vs. Regular Decision

For all first-year and transfer applicants, your first step will be to fill out and submit an application.

The binding Early Decision plans offered are for students who have decided that Babson is their first choice. If accepted, students agree to enroll at Babson and withdraw all other applications. The notification dates for Early Decision I (ED I) and Early Decision II (ED II) are well in advance of Babson’s Regular Decision notification dates. Students applying Early Decision to Babson are eligible to apply to other colleges’ nonbinding early admission programs.

Babson’s nonbinding Early Action (EA) plan is designed for applicants who view Babson as one of their top choices. Students admitted through EA can enjoy the remainder of their senior year exploring Babson more in depth and have until May 1 to make their college choice. EA applicants are eligible to apply to other colleges’ early admission programs.

Regular Decision gives applicants more time both to complete their application, as well as strengthen their application with senior-year extracurricular achievements or improved academic performance.

Transfer Students and Reapplicants

Applicants who are not admitted as first-year students are encouraged to apply as a transfer applicant. Please check with us to see if we still have your official test scores on file; if we do, you do not need to resubmit them. Babson College holds records for two years. Applicants who were not offered admission or chose not to enroll at Babson and have not enrolled at another postsecondary institution may also reapply for admission.

Financial Aid and Affordability

At Babson College, we’re committed to making it affordable for students to take advantage of the opportunities available to them during their undergraduate experience and beyond. and Canadian applicants.

Around 50% of all students receive some form of financial aid. Babson is need blind, and commits to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need. They will meet this same level of need each year, as long as there isn’t a major change in the family’s financial situation. International students are eligible for limited financial aid.

While the majority of aid dollars are devoted to financial need, Babson also offers merit-based scholarships.

Campus Life and Opportunities

Residence halls come in a variety of shapes and sizes, offering both traditional dorm-style housing and suites. There is also special interest housing available, where students can join a living learning community. Female-only housing is available. All first-year students are required to live on-campus. Students are permitted to live on-campus for all four years. There are 17 different residence halls available.

100% of Freshmen live on campus and 76% of undergrads live on-campus at any given time.

Located in the Babson Park neighborhood of Wellesley, MA, the campus is quite small, but located just 15 miles from Boston. The campus is covered in trees, and centers around Babson Commons.

Points of interest on and around campus include: Carling-Sorenson Theater, Wellesley Symphony Orchestra, Webster Athletics Center, Hunnewell Arboretum, and the Elm Bank Horticultural Center.

Babson offers a shuttle between their campus and neighboring college campuses of Olin and Wellesley.
